Street Fair Moved To Larger Area In Wawasee Village

Bill Hess, chief of the Syracuse fire department, announced Friday that the Police and Firemen’s Benefit Association decided in a meeting Thursday to move the street fair to an area south of town in Wawasee Village. It was originally planned to locate the fair in downtown Syracuse. By moving to the Village location. Place Safety Markers At Wawasee Sunday Safety markers will be placed around the shore of Wawasee First started at Wawasee officers and officials of the Wawasee Property Owners Association. Markers are placed 200 feet off shore, and are spaced at regular intervals. Skiers and fast boats are asked to honor the shore line area inside the markers and confine their activities to the center part of the lake outside of the safety zone. This Is a safeguard for children and swimmers. First sctarted at Wawasee Lake five years ago. the marker system has helped keep the lake safe for all types of water sports. The system has been adopted in other states, according to reports of state officials.
