Miss Gloria Jean Lewis became the bride of Larry D. Nicolai in a double ring ceremony performed Friday evening at 7:30 o'clock in the St John's** Methodist Church in Davenport, lowa. Dr. Frederick J. Ackman officiated as vows were exchanged before an altar decorated with white vladiola and candlabra. Dr. and Mrs. Henry V. Lewis of 2920 Harr:>on Street. Davenport. are parents of the bride Who was eiven in marriage by her father. Mr and Mrs. Henry Nicolai of 701 South Main Street, Syracuse, are the groom's parents. Traditional wedding, marches were played by Miss Carlotta Spensley. harpist, who presented a prelude of selections including Ave Maria. Panis Angelicuu, and Ich leibe ditch. For her wedding the - bride wore a gown fashioned by her mother of deep lustre satin and French lace. The jacket top featured a sabrina neckline and three-quarter length sleeves that were secured by tiny satin buttons. The skirt of the gown was styled as an ankle length released sheath with an overlay of lace edged in scallops at the hemline Tlie petal shaped chapel train of satin fell from a narrow belt at the waistline. She was dressed- in a white organdy street length dress with a wide V-shaped collar and a full skirt. The meline was accented with pink floral embroidery. They wore costumes identical to that of the matron of honor but with color accents in. lavender and blue, respectively. Doniel Funk of Millersburg, a fraternity brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were James Caskey, also a fraternity brother, and Roland Hodgson, uncle of the groom, both of Syracuse. The bride graduated from Davenport High Schoal and will receive a bachelor of science degree in speech and hearing therapy from Purdue Universityin June 1962. She is a member of Chi Omega social sorority, Delta Rho Kappa and Alpha Lambda Delta, scholastic honoraries, Gold Peppers and Mortar Board, honorary groups for outstanding women students.
