Guest Choir Presents Convocation Program / A group of fifth grade students from New Paris, under the direction of Mrs. William Hollar of the New Paris schools music department. presented a program at the convocation of grades 1 to 6 in the Syracuse schools Friday. Their program included group reading and a saxaphone solo by part singing, folk dancing, choral Steve Haab. Mrs. Haab used fifth grade piano students for accompanying the numbers, and an autoharp. Transportation was furnished by mothers of the students. The students were from Mrs Swoveland's room at New Paris schools. This was the first time that another school had presented a program at Syracuse. 1 Several weeks ago, the elementary chorus gave a program at Millersburg. Plans are to give one program a year away from home and have an exchange group appear at the Syracuse school. Elementary Choir Sings For Guild Program A program by the sth and 6th grade chorus of the elementary school, directed by Mrs. Richard Ditmer. was presented to the Methodist Nursery Guild at their meeting May 10 in the sanctuary of the Methodist church. The group sang eight selections. Thirty-two of the thirty-eight members of the chours were presented. Installation of officers was the main order of . business. Mrs. George Bushong was installed as, president, Mrs. Fay Wong, vice president; Mrs. Carl Hepler secretary: Mrs. Jack Schacht, treasurer and Mrs. Wong and Mrs. George Walbridge were named for the project committee.
