Tuesday, May 16. the American Red Cross blbodmobile will be headquartered at the old gymnasium, from noon until 6 pm. First Grade Registration First grade registration will be held May 17. from 8:45 to 10:45 am., 1 to 3 pm., and 7:30 to 8:30 pm. Fort Wayne will be the scene of the regional track meet May 19. and on the same day local elementary pupils will have their Field Day. The annual Senior Prom, sponsored by students’ parents, will be held May 20. with an evening of dancing and entertainment for seniors and t-heir guests. The Awards Day program will be held at the High School at 2:15 pm. May 22, and the local Future Teachers of America at 6:30 pm. May 24 The GAA banquet is scheduled for 6:30 pm May 25. and Senior Class Day will be observed the following afternoon at 2:30. Cadet Dick Janhson of Culver Military Academy was home this week end with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Jamison. On Saturday he had several guests from school. Cadets Sam Jones of Hutchinson, Kansas. Chuck Longfield. Grand Rapids and Chris Hinkle. AFB at Little Rock joined Dick in a swim but reported that the water was ‘ a little chilly.**

Former Resident Killed In Florida Word has been received here of the death Sunday in Florida of Dean Elliot Smith. 19. a former Syracuse youth who moved to Florida two years ago. Smith was killed in a traffic accident early Sunday at Zolfo Springs. Florida. He was the son of Mr: and Mrs. John M. Smith, who resided here at 201 S. Huntington St. Funeral services are planned at the Forest G. Hays Funeral Home in South Bend. Pneumonia Blamed in Death of Child Ten-month-old Dana Mast, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mast of here died of pheumoma. according to pathologists’ reports. The child was pronounced dead on arrival last Saturday at the Elkhart General Hospital, after being rtished there from the family home here in an ambulance. It was first suspected that a kernal of popcorn, which the child apparently caught in his throat the night before, was the cause of death, but this was ruled out in the postmortem report. Graveside senices were held Monday at Pittsfield. Illinois, for the child. Car, Truck In Crash; Driver Is Charged Larry Allen Clark. 17, R.R. 3 Warsaw, was slated by Deputy Marshal Fred Personette Tuesday morning, following a collision at Medusa and Seventh streets. Clark was slated for failure to yield the right-of-way. His car was damaged an estimated $250. Pejjsonette said it was in collision with a truck driven by Robert Nelson Strieby. 63. 413 S. Lake St., this city. The truck was damaged $l5O. Administrator Named For Paugh Estate GOSHEN. Ind—Ray Rockenbaugh. of here, has been named administrator of the estate of John Paugli, Benton Township near Syracuse, who was killed in a traffic accident near Dewart Lake last month. 1 Life Time Resident Dies; Services Friday Mrs. Ida Belle Strieby, 81, died, early’ Wednesday morning at the Goshen Hospital where she had been a patient for two days. She had been in ill health for I* 2 years. Bom July 16. 1879 in Syracuse, her parents were Amos and Mary’ Long. Her husband. Fnank Strieby whom she married March 4. 1899 in Syracuse, died in 1919. A life long resident of the community. Mrs. Strieby Was a member of the Zion Chapel. A charter member of the Goodwill Home Demonstration Club, and Women’s Missionary Society. She is survived by a daughter. Mrs. Sherman (Moscelene) Deaton, with whom she made her home: a brother. Vern. of Mexico. Indiana and several nieces and nephews. One brother and three sisters proceded her in death. Services will be conducted at Zion Chapel Friday afternoon at 2 pm. by Rev. Carl Gable with Rev. William Wood assisting. Burial will be in Union cemetery. Friends may call at the Harris Funeral Home in Syracuse Thursday and until noon Friday when the body will be moved to the church. Plan Branch Plant C. Youth Rally Is Held At Grace Bible Church Youth groups of the Grace Bible church sponsored a special youth rally at the church Saturday. 5 Vocal and instrumental music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bushong of North Webster. Rev. John Sanford, who with his family recently returned from the troubled Congo area, was the featured speaker. The family will leave this fall for the Philippine Islands and a new field of service. = Mrs. Vera Ahrens and Paul Sutton of Jackson. Michigan, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ahrens.
