Mrs. Blocker Retires From Bonk Position Mrs. Noble Blocker went home as usual Saturday from the State Bank of Syracuse without fanfare or even a brief announcement of her retirement, which is the way she wanted it, she insisted. This ended over thirtytwo years of experience serving the public in its daily transaction of business at “the bank." Her introduction to banking was in Sweetzer following graduation from high school. She worked there sixteen years, many of them as assistant cashier. In 1944. after their two sons. John and Jimmy, were in school, she accepted a position at the State Bank of Syracuse where her husband was cashier. Now, she says, she is going to enjoy her home. On Monday morning. E. E. Lindley, cashier, announced to the staff that Mrs. Blocker had retired. Miss Lucille Bushong, an employee at the bank for the past several years, is temporarily at the window from which Mrs. Blocker greeted the public in a manner distinctly her own and always with a pleasant exchange of conversation.
