Mr. and Mrs. Russell Weller of Cleveland, were in Greencastle for the weekend to attend May Day activities at DePauw University with their son, Russell Jr. They leave May 12 for Europe and plan to be gone a month.

Recipes From The Kitchen Comer
Upside Down Cake 2 cups flour 3 tsp baking powder * 2 cup butter 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 3 4 cup milk Melt 3 Tblsp. butter and 3 « cup brown sugar in a heavy skillet or pan. Arrange fruits, pineapple. apricots or peaches in skillet after sugar has carmelized. Mix butter and sugar and add beaten eggs. Alternate with milk and sifted flour and baking powder, and little salt and vanilla. Pour batter on top of fruit and bake in moderate oven at 350 deg. until done. Can be served with whipped cream. FROZEN SALAD 11 lb Marshmallows (cut fine) 1 No. 2 can crushed pineapple ■'drained' . ' . .• Pour pineapple over marshmallows and let stand a few minutes. Soften 1 pkg of Philadelphia Cream Cheese and mix with *4 cup salad dressing. Whip 1 cup cream until stiff. Mix all together and add 1 small can maraschino cherries, cut fine. Put in freezing compartment. Camp Fire Girls CHESK-A-MAY On April 26 the Chesk-A May Camp Fire girls had their meeting at Mrs. Butt’s house. A? the meeting the girls sang two songs. They were White Choral Bells and Sweetly Sings the Donkey. The meeting was adjourned by Barbara Fisher, president. Attend M.E. Conference Mrs. Oscar Benson accompanied by’Mrs. Leone Hogue attended the North Indiana Conference of the Women’s Society of Christian Senice at the First Methodist Church in Marion April 26. Over 60C ladies attended the meeting.
Syracuse Garden Club The Syracuse-Wawasee Garden Club met at the home of Irene Abts Tuesday evening. Mrs. Herschel Leatherman presented the first lesson in a course of study on flower arranging taken from the RockwelFs New Book of Flower Arranging. The lesson was on containers, bases, backgrounds, accessories and equipment. All types were discussed with their relationship to the home decorating scheme and furnishings, also suitability to Miss Beverly Mey was home for , the week end from Purdue recently and had with her Carrie Libbey of Lock Haven. Pa., Judy Carlson of Highland. Dave Kinney of Sommerville, N. J., Tracy Baren of Summitt, N. J. and Tony Wuichett of Dayton. Ohio, all students at Purdue. M. E. Circle No. 1 Circle One of the Methodist church held its May meeting at the home of Mrs. Ernest Bushong Monday with sixteen members and one guest present. Officers elected for the coming year were Mrs.- Leone Hogue, chairman: Mrs. Lewis Hastings, vice chairman; Mrs. Muriel Smith, secretary; arid Mrs. Robert Wilkerson, treasurer. Miss Ida Deardorff gave devotions preceding the program presented by Mrs. Bushong which concerned her native country.
