Penn Controls Announces Formation Of New Company

Ralph S. Penn, president of Penn Controls, Inc at Goshen, announced today the formation of a Japanese company to manufacture automatic controls in Japan The new company, known as Saginomiya Penn Controls (Japan) Ltd., will be jointly owned by Saginomiya Seisakusho Co. Ltd. and the Goshen, Indiana, firm. Saginomiya Seisakuleading manufac trols, valves, guages and other devices. S now under construction at Toko ing is expected to be completed y February 1. Memorial Gift Sunday Mrs. Ruth Connett and daughter, Mrs. Jack Krauss, of Fort Wayne, were guests of Rev. and Mrs. J. Ross Richey Sunday. During the morning service at Mrs. Connett presented the church with two nylon flags as a memorial to her husband, Marion Connett, One a new 50 star United States flag. Paul LeVernier was program chairman for the regular meetng of Rotary Monday night at Howard's. He introduced guest speaker, Rev. Carl H. Satre, who told of his year in Germany when he and Mrs. Satre attended school there. He spoke of the difference in methods of teaching religion in other countries, especially Germany. Rev Kennard Robinson was welcomed into membership Forty-three members were present and one visitor, Frank Nyikos. Pete Luttman was appointed to the board of directors. Deaths - Funerals WHITACRE Mrs. Elizabeth S. Whitacre, 55, of R.R 1, Leesburg, died early Wednesday morning, January 11, in Whitley County Hospital after an illness of three years. Born January 20, 1905 in tfield, Indiana, her parents were Mr and Mrs. Issac Schell. She married John Whitacre June 27, 1925 and resided in the North Webster community since 1933. Survivors besides the widower are a son, Robert, of North Webster; a daughter, Carolyn Hall of South Bend; three grandchildren; a brother, Jack Schell of South Bend; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Turner and Mrs. Ethel Clemmets of South Bend and Mrs. Edna Wade of Waukegon, Ill. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Harris Troxel Funeral home at North Webster with Rev. Chester Read officiating. Burial will be at North Webster. Friends may call at the funeral home from Thursday noon until service time Syracuscene. . . Robert Amsler of Washington, D.C. was home for Christmas week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Amsler. Other guests at the Amsler home were their daughter and family, Mr. nd Mrs. Novy Hubbard and son of Lanesville. Miss Alice Hubbard of English, Ind., and Miss Della Amsler of Renssaleer.

Pythian Club Honors Members Going South Fourteen members of the Pythian Club were entertained in the home of Mrs. Ella Unrue Friday evening with Mrs. Hattie Cripe assisting. The party honored four members who are leaving soon for Florida. They are Mrs. Nelle Sloan, Mrs. Elizabeth Pollock, Mrs. Orlie Brown and Mrs. Clarence Snyder. A potluck supper was served and bingo was played with prizes going to Mrs. Pollock and Mrs. Elnora Colwell. The door prize was won by Mrs. Sloan.
