BRUCE NILES IS HOME Bruce Niles. 5 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Niles, is home from Riley hospital in Indianapolis where he underwent open heart surgery October 30. He is reported to be doing very well and it is expected that he will be fully recovered within the next few months. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Parker and family of Petersburg. Michigan were week end guests of Rev. and Mrs. Carl Gable.

Goodwill H.D. Club Sixteen members of the Goodwill Home Demonstration Club met last week in the House of Friendship. Mrs. Raymond Jetmore was a guest. Mrs Bernard Roberts, vice president, opened the meeting. Mrs. Elmo Shock led in group singing with Mrs. Sherman Deaton at the piano. Mrs. Eldred Mabie read several Thanksgiving poems for devotions. Roll call was answered with Bible verses. Mrs. Roberts led in the pledge to the flag and '•lub creed, repeated in unison. During the business meeting conducted by Mrs. Homer Allen, president. Mrs. Blanche Kline as secretary and Mrs. Philip Lee as treasurer, protem Members were reminded about Christmas gifts for the mentally ill. Mrs. Dean Grady presented the lesson on making Christmas decorations. Refreshments were served by ’he hostesses. Mrs. Deaton. Mrs. Eldon Watkins and Mrs. Belle Strieby. JEM SPITLER NOW TRAINING AT NAS IN SAN DIEGO James L. Spitler, aviation machinist's mate third class, USN., son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Spitler of Syracuse, is serving with Fighter Squadron 121 at Miremar Naval Air Station, San Diego. Calif. The squadron trains replacement pilots and ground support personnel for Pacific Fleet squadrons. Currently flying the F3H “Demen”, it will be the first Navy squadron to receive the new twin engine, all-weather McDonnell F4H “Phantom II” jet aircraft. Spitler’s address is James L. Calvary Ladies Aid Os E. U. B. Church Mrs. Roy L. Miller, president, presided at the meeting of the Ladies Aid Society of Calvary> E.U.B. church when it met at the parish house for the November meeting. Ten members were present. Mrs. Edna Thomas gave ’ devotions using “Thanksgiving” as her theme. Mrs. Opal Nolan acted as secretary pro tern. Refreshments were served by Mrs Miller. On Tuesday Mrs. Ivy Detweiler. her daughter, Mrs. Melvin Hostettler. and Mrs. Carl Walker were guests of the Cross-roads Home Ec Club, at a potluck dinner, in the home of Mrs. Robert Webster. Pierceton.
