MISSIONARY FROM KOREA AT SUNDAY SERVICE LIGONIER, Ind.— Rev. Jack Achersold. missionary from Korea. and his family, participated in the worship service Sunday of the Ligonier Methodist church. Regular service was postponed to the following Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Ott and Mr. and Mrs. William McGill of Millersburg were in Elkhart Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Price. They celebrated the oirthdays of Mr. and Mrs. McGill. Church Events RICHVILLE. Ind—The Booster Class of the Richville Methodist church met Friday evening n the church basement for a potluck dinner. Charles Staton president, opened the meeting. Project for the evening was making draperies for the classrooms. Mrs. Warren Hire is project chairrhan. Syracuse Lake SYRACUSE LAKE.—Mr. and Mrs. Dale Plummer are visiting friends in Phoenix. Arizona, as hey return from a vacation trip to California. They are expected home the latter part of the week. Mr, and Mrs Harold Gray of North Shore Drive, are in South Dakota for a ten day visit durng pheasant season. Miss Doris Jessup recently returned from New York and has accepted a position at the Wawasee Lumber Co. Mrs. Robert Penick and her not her. Welty of East Shore Drive, were in Goshen Friday evening for a pinochle party at the home of Mr and Mrs. Jack Hostetter. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Stahly of East Shore Drive, left last week for their winter home in Glendora. California. They spent one night in Nappanee with Mr. md Mrs. Frank Lehman. The Stahlys have resided at the lake for the past eight months. COMPLETES BOOT TRAINING Dennis L. Brock, son of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Brock of 112 W. Carroll St., graduated from recruit training Ooctober 8 at the Naval Training Center, Great Lakes. Illinois. The graduation exercises. | marking the end of nine weeks of "boot camp", included a full dress parade and review before j military officials and civilian dignitaries. In nine weeks of instruction. 1 the "raw recruit" is developed into a Navy Bluejacket, ready for duty with the fleet.

COMMUNITY NEWS of the Ligonier Area LIGONIER, Ind.—Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Troyer and familj visited Mr. and Mrs. Menno Kauffman in Greentown Saturday. During the day they visited in the homes of their daughters. Mrs. John Beachy, and Mrs. Melvin Beachy, and attended a household sale. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Moser spent Sunday in Nappanee Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Biever and family. Other guests of the Bievers were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Noes of Defiance, Ohio. Juentin Atz. 4 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ricard Atz. underwent hurgery Wednesday in Parkview Memorial Hospital at Fort Wayne. Mrs. Forest Ott and Mrs. Thomas Speaker were in Fort Wayne Tuesday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Ott and do some shopping. BPW Hold Meeting LIGONIER. Ind.—The Business and Professional Women of Ligonier held their annual card party and style show Thursday evening at Eagles Hall. 120 people attended the gay affair. Prizes were given for high scores and there was a grab bag prize for each table. The Halloween theme was used in serving of refreshments and for the setting of the style show under the direction of Mrs. Veda Cdiddister of the Veda and Mary Dress Shoppe. Thirty different outfits were Shown by 24 models. Mrs. Rex Hagen was chairman of the evening with Mrs. Robert Staton in charge of prizes. Gladys Baker in charge of refreshments and Mrs. Bill Rari in charge of the style show. Inter City Meeting Recently the BPWs of Ligonier held an inter city meeting beginning with dinner at the Beacon restaurant in Kimmel with Albion as the host city. Other clubs attended were from Columbia City. Avilla, Churubusco and Ligonier. A political debate was staged for the program. Ebenezer Ladies Aid Mrs. Milo Snydar entertained the Ebenezer Ladies Aid October 20 at her home near Cromwell. Mrs. Charles Beck opened the meeting by reading some articles on voting. Devotions were given by Mrs. Frank Harper. Nineteen members were present and there were four guests. Mrs. Ralph Smith. Mrs. Hazel Ebert. Mrs. Leia Hull, and Mrs. Blanche Starkey. “A Name That Tune" contest was conducted by Mrs. Snyder and won bv Mrs. Harper. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Hull, The program also included organ music by Mrs. Snyder and Mrs. Alma Archer. Refreshments were served by the hostesses. Mrs. Snyder. Mrs. Harper and Mrs. John Beck.
