A new attraction has been added this summer to historic Greenfield Village near Detroit, Mich. Visitors can see Main Street V.S.A., a new traveling exhibition housed in two specially-designed railroad cars. It gives today’s generation a chance to walk in the streets of yesteryear. Along with the exhibition, several hand crafts long since vanished from the American scene are in fulltime operation in the Village. Greenfield Village, an outdoor museum of Americana, contains nearly 100 historic homes and workshops. Adjacent Henry Ford Museum, its indoor counterpart, displays

Nothing makes a newspaper editor happier than a “scoop.” But ft err ma to me some editors overdo ft now and then. Last week, for example, an editor claimed his paper was the first in his city to report the Mayor’s “impending retirement” But, judging from the next day’s edition of the same paper, the Mayor had other ideas.
As a result the lead editorial in that newspaper then started off like this’ “We are glad to be the first paper in the city to inform our public that the story of the Mayor’s

CV ROAR Ladies and Gentlemen, Public Relations and Publicity, that is my job. I’m in charge of Publicity for the Syracuse Lions Club. The Lions Clubs are SERVICE clubs. You will find them all over the world. Lions in 1917. The purpose of each club is to recognize community needs, and develop means of meeting them directly if possible. And so, the Syracuse Lions are interested in the welfare of this area. We try in our limited capacity to make our community a better place. The Lions are your neighbors and friends. We try to be of

retirement is just a rumor.” From where I sit, facte and truth always win out, no matter how you disguise them. That goes for newspapers as well as for neighbors. For instance, your choice of beverage may be a glass of iced tea ... mine is an occasional glass of beer. Now’ each of us could make up quite a “story” about which of us is right But the fact is we’re both right—now let’s just respect each other’s point of view.
service. Take our last meeting, for instance. It was brought to our attention that the folks who are devoting their time and energy to redecorating the interior of the Syracuse Scout Cabin needed more money for paint. Now, our budget could not cover this particular need. So it was suggested that we each give a dollar, which we did. Now a dollar isn’t much, but when 30-40 members give, it makes a tidy sum. I cite this case as an illustration of what can be done by all of us when we are called upon to give a little toward some worth while cause. At present time, 'the cause I have in mind is the drive for United Funds. At our last meeting. we Lions were lucky to see a motion picture showing the need, and the use to which United Funds are put. If any of you folks get an opportunity to see this film by ajl means do so. It sure convinced us that everyone’s contribution is needed. Watch for another Lions’ hews column. We will let you know what our interests are—YOUR interests—and how we can all help. At this time I’d like to list the names of committee chairmen: Bud Cripe, attendance and membership: Noble Blocker, finance: Louis Byland, conventions and yours truly, Fred Johnson, publicity Mrs. Annabelle Coil and her daugter, Mrs. Caroline Bonham were in Chicago Friday and spent the week end at the Moraine Hotel in Highland ParkDr. Coil plans to join them if he attends a hearing aid convention there.
