May Meter Collection Completes Third Year The parking meter collection for May totaled $369.50 according to Ernest Buchholz, town clerk. This completed three years of meter revenue. Jerry Wiles Wins In Favored Go-Kart Race The New Paris Speedway will offer a special holiday weekend race program on its quarter-mile tricky oval Sunday night, July 3rd with a big display of fireworks at the conclusion of the stock car and Go-Kart events. Time trials at 7:30 will be followed by nine race events. Young Jerry Wiles, of Syracuse, is setting a fast pace among the GoKart drivers and has won the last three features with his speedy little demon. The New Paris Speedwaypresented another card of stock car and Go Kart races at its one-quarter mile oval Sunday afternoon with time trials at 2:30. At least 22 drivers reported to qualify in open class stock cars while the sensational little Go Karts have been proven favorites with the crowd so far this season; Children are always admitted free to New Paris races. JOURNAL WANT ADSBRIHG RESULTS G W Foods Increase Plant Operation Here GW Foods, located on Road 13 just south of Wawasee Village, is adding a bakery to its present operation. The bakery will be housed in a new 24x72 foot building at the north side of the present plant and is now under construction. Maurice Lung, general manager of the Syracuse plant, said crusts for pizza pies will be made at Syracuse instead of in other company plants. * GW Foods, a Michigan food company, built its Syracuse plant a year ago for the manufacture and distribution of pizza pies in this area. County Ranks 41 st In Primary Turnout Kosciusko County ranked 41st among Indiana's 92 counties in the percentage of registered voters who cast ballots fir the primary election May 3, according to a survey by the Indiana State Char.iber of Commerce. The unofficial survey, compiled from reports, of local chambers of commerce, newspapers and county clerks, showed a total balloting of 8,677, representing 42.46% of the registered voters of the county.
