Miss App is a graduate of Syracuse High School and is now attending Saint Francis College where she is a member of Kappa Phi Omega Sorority. Mr Good is the son of Mr and Mrs. Hermann P. Good of Reading, Pennsylvania, and senior at Indiana Technical College where he is a member of Sigma Phi Delta fraternity. July >6 has been set as the date for the wedding. The Apps reside at 1516 Kinsmgton, Fort Wayne. Out On Bond Auer Now Held By Elkhart County tom Auer. 18. of Syracuse was released from Kosciusko county jail June 16 on SI,OOO bond after being charred with forgery and uttering a forged check. He is now being held in the Elkhart county jail on $3,000 bond. Auer admitted that he passed S4OO in checks in Kosciusko county and $166 in Elkhart county during the past month. He used the names of several Kosciusko county residents in passing the checks. Sgt. Don Snyder of the Warsaw Police caught Auer June 15 after he attempted to pass a check at a Warsaw supermarket. Three guns were found in his car at the time of. his arrest. Relatives told officers that Auer had received treatment for leukemia in a southern hospital. John Stabler Dies; Services Friday John Stabler, 64, a longtime resident of Syracuse, died Tuesday morn ins of a heart attack at. the ohome of his daughter, Mrs. Theldon Kline. Services will be held Friday at 2 pm. in the Roher funeral home in New Paris. Burial will be in Solomon s Creek cemetery north of Syracuse. A former employee of Sturm ind Dillard gravel company, Mr. Stabler had been ill for the past eight months. He was bom Feb 3. 1896. the on of Willard and Luella Stab ler. June 22. 1917 he married Leola Grubbs. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edith Miller, Mrs. William Hess and Mrs. Kline: the mother. Mrs. Stabler, of Ligonier; two brothers. Albert of’Fort Wayne, and Glenn, of Milford; six grandchildren and two great-grand-children.

South Side Gulf Club Starts Tourney Play A Father's Day Breakfast tournament was held Sunday at South Shore Golf Course with L. Burke. K. W. Kurtz. Ed Smith and Dean Laßue placing first in net team play. B. Bostick. C. Kilmer, M. Weaver and P. Scott were members of the second place team. J. Van Aman. D. Perry, H. Guide, and D. Prior made up the third place team. Baldy Mills and C. Kilmer tied in individual gross play. Charles Williams and Ed Smith tied in individual net play.' There was a large crowd on hand to see right hander Tom Firestone record his seventh victory without a setback. Crow had three hits for the Jackets. Firestone struck out fourteen Pierceton batters and was credited with the win. Rutherford was the loser. John LeCount, Malcolm Sidle Win Prizes Eleven year old Malcom Sidle won second prize last; week in the Let’s Go Fishin' Contest with an 8 pound 33” pike caught in Wawasee. Malcolm is a summer resident from resident from Fort Wayne and is the son of Col. and Mrs. C. L. Sidle. First prize was awarded to John LeCount of Syracuse whose 34 1 4 ” pike tipped the scales at B’2 pounds. This prize winner was caught in Syracuse Lake. Both awards were presented Sunday night on the 10 o’clock WSJV-TV show over Channel 28 from Elkhart. No tagged fish were caught '.ast week. All fish entered in the Let’s Go Fishin' contest must be registered at the Ken Harkless Wawasee Boat company at Wawsee Lake. Fish tagged with a 28 marker have first chance at the prize. First prize is a spin cast rod and reel by South Bend Tackle Company. If no tagged fish is registered during the contest week which goes from Friday noon to Friday noon, the largest untagged fish receives the prize with the next largest fish claiming second prize of a spin cast reel. There are two more months in the contest. Final date is August 26. 500 tagged fish were placed in Wawasee Lake this year just as there were last year for the contest.
