820 Enroll In Schools Here Tuesday: Anticipate Increase
Enrollment Tuesday In the Syracuse schools totalled 820 according to report of Lewis Immel. superintendent. Immel ( said an increase is anticipated as illness kept some pupils from reporting Tuesday morning for registration, and new families are moving into the community. Registration according to grades are as follows: First 75; second 71; third 95: fonrth 80: fifth 78: sixth 81 which makes the initial enroll ment grade school 480. In junior high, seventh grade enrolled 70; eighth 58. Enrollment in high school shows ninth with 56: * tenth 61: eleventh 57; and twelfth 38. Total for junior and senior high grades for first enrollment is 340. In 1958, total enrollment first day was 481 in the first six grades. 322 in junior and senior high schools, making a total of 803. August Meter Take Highest This Year Meter collections for August amounted to $494.50 according to Ernest Buchholz, town clerk. This is the higest monthly collection to date for 1959 and corresponds to the high month for the two years the parking meters have been in operation Collections in August 1958 were $496.25; for 1957. $591.02. according to the records of the town clerk. Indiana, where she went Monday to take Mrs Clio Whitted and Mrs Gladys Powell to their homes after several weeks’ visit at the Clark home in Syracuse. Jerry Clark is on a trip to Grand Teton National Park with two members of the Purdue Outing Club. He will return to Purdue where he will teach and continue graduate study. !
