Deaths—-Funerals BROWN David L. Brown, lifelong resident of the Syracuse community, died of a heart attack Friday afternoon at his home on SR 13 two miles north of Syracuse. Born near Syracuse 30 December 1883. Mr. Brown was a son of Milton and Melissa Hendrix Brown. He married Hattie Hinderer 31 December 1905. She survives. Mr. Brown was a charter member of Hex Grange. Also surviving are three brothers. Frank. Arthur and Vem. and a sister. Mrs. Maude De Vault, all of Syracuse. Services were held Monday aft emoon at the Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Elvin Hoffman officiating. Burial was in the Syracuse cemetery. McCLINTIC Martin McClintic, a- resident of the Syracuse area for many years, was found dead at his home by a neighbor Friday evening. According to Dr William Cron, deputy county comor, Mr. McClintic died of a heart attack Friday morning. It appeared that he had been on a ladder outside his house when he suffered a fatal attack, he fell to the ground with the ladder fall ing on top of him. Mr. McClintic lived alone about a mile west of the fish hatcheries Son of John and Lydia McClintic, he was bom in Kosciusko county 14 July 1878. He was a Spanish American war veteran and a member of the North Webster K of P lodge. His wife, the -former Navada Hall, whom he married in 1989. died in 1945 Surviving are a son Donald, of Fort Wayne: two daughters. Mrs. Charles Thomas. Elkhart, and Mrs. Dean Hite, Ligonier: nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Services were held in the Troxed funeral home at North Webster Monday afternoon with Rev Herbert Yoder officiating. Burial was in the McClintic cemetery. DREW. Mrs Nettie Drew, former Syracuse resident, died 15 July in Three Rivers. Michigan. Mrs. Drew had lived with her daugh ter. Mrs. Fred Gombosi for the past six years .and was hospitalized for the last 55 days of her life. I - While residents of Syracuse, the Drews owned the drug store which Thoropurgs bought Mrs Drew joined/the Syracuse Chapter Order jif the Eastern Star. 9 November 1914 and retained membership here. Annabelle Coil Dear Editor Reference last weeks edition, article headed “Wawasee Proper-ty-Owning Groups Seek Increased Representation On Commission.’ in part, quote: “Gray also stated that all meetings of the Plan Commission are open to the public and that board members .would welcome attendance of other property owners." You have either misquoted Harold Gray, or Harold Gray is misleading some more people. At the meeting of the Board of Zoning and Planning, when our petition was being heard. Harold Gray as president of the board told the group from Medusa St. that the board would have to reach a decision on our petition at a closed meeting. They did. and the meeting was closed, not an open meeting. We were not welcome, though we would have liked to have been admitted. Editor, are you misquoting? O. C. Grace Church Buys Reinbold Property Purchase of the former Reinbiold home at 524 South Main Street by the Grace Bible Church, was announced this week by the Rev! M. Raymond Mason, pastor. It is planned that the Reinboyld house will be used as a church annex for social and auxiliary meetings, said Rev. Mason, and the present chapel on Sigsbee Place, located at the rear of the new parsonage, is to be enlarged for worship services.
