Block’s Department Store. Sandy who is as nice a gal as she is good looking has been a model for several years and has also had fun in directing some of the fashion shows. John and Anna Sudlow who have been up front in the Auburn-Cord Classic of the Classic Car Club of America for three years running, this year won the overall prize, with their 1937 Cord Model 812, at the Midwest Grand Classic held recently at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. Their rating of 99.25 points was just about perfect but a 1930 duPont at the west coast meet the same week end scored 100 for first place nationally. Third place went to the winner of the eastern meet held in New Jersey. Syracuse will be represented in another meet in Greenfield Village 6-8 August by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rock.-Jr. who plan to enter their 1930 Ford roadster in the national rally of Model A Restorers Club in which more than 250 carefully restored cars are scheduled to vie for honors. Did you know that George Riddle, one of the players at the Wagon Wheel Playhouse in Warsaw this summer is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Riddle of Goshen and a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Riddle of South Huntington Street? He is a graduate of Drama, Inc., School of Professional Arts; has played winter stock, Shakespearian repertory and musical comedy. George completed a long run in "I Wish I May" at a New York theatre shortly before coming to Warsaw for the summer season. In this week’s presentation of
Tennessee Williams moving play "Summer and Smoke." by the Wagon Wheel Playhouse, George Riddle is cast in the rote of Rev. Winemiller. The play will run through Saturday night. Township Budget Colls For Working Balance George Lamm, trustee of Turkey Creek township, has prepared a budget for 1960 township programs which calls for a slight increase in order to provide a working captial in each program and avoid the necessity and expense of requesting additional appropriations. For the first time this year, the township budget L completely separate from school budget which is prepared and filed by the Metropolitan School Board. The proposed tax rate for 1960 is 58 cents. Increase in township accounts show a raise in salary of the trustee by sl6l a year, which went into effect during 1959. and an increase in fund for sta tionery. advertisting and expenses of S2OO. When the school board system was established as a unit separate from the township, it was necessary for the trustee to move his office from the school grounds. Trustee Lamm built an office at his home and maintains it at his own expense. . Expenses for the Justice of the Peace show an increase of $215 based on minimum requirements of the past year needed for supplies in making routine reports. The Relief fund also is up because funds were insufficient for 1959. The Civil Township fund is down. The fire department fund has been changed to the Fire Fighting Fund and is separated from the civil township fund. It shows an increase which is partly due to the change in the telephone system which required new equipment for a call system and additional men on duty for monitoring the calls. The civil township bond fund also is slightly increased in order to have enough money in the account when bonds come due in 1960, payable in 1961. and to give a workins balance. ‘ Once" a slight working balance is started.” said Lamm, “the necessity of requesting ad ditional appropriations before the year is up will be eliminated. The procedure for requesting additional appropriations adds to general expenses and would not be necessary once a minimum working balance is maintained.” JP Fines Five: Jails One In Lieu Os Fine Week end boating and traffic violation*; resulted in payment of fine of $1 and costs of sl6 by two persons in the justice of the peace court of Robert S.
