PTA Gives Draperies Te Elementary Classrooms Proceeds from the 1958 P.T.A. Halloween festival will be used to purchase draw draperies for one of the elementary school rooms on the south side of the Syracuse grade school building, according to an announcement made by Frank Hale, 1958-59 president, following action last week of the P.TA. executive committee. To be made of special DuPont fabric, thedrapries will be effective in eliminating heat and glare from the room, as well as providing a room black-out. when completely drawn, for visual aid purposes. The Halloween project, with fund money set aside each year for some special P.TA. project, has drawn unqualified community support, for which Hale again thanks all who have participated in the event. P.TA. executive committee members who worked with Hale are Mrs. Donald Sheets. Mrs. Beulah Bushong. Gerald Cramar, Lewis Immel. Mrs. Donald Me Namara, Homer Allen. Mrs. E. L. Fosbrink. Mrs. F. A. Singleton. Charles Garner, and Mrs. William T. Jones Jr. Junior Mothers Club: Seventeen members of the Junior Mothers Club met at the home of Mrs. Bill Eyer Monday evening. Mrs. Lots Allen was welcomed Into the club. Mrs. Harold Fairbanks withdrew her membership as they are moving to Michigan. It was reported that 84 youngsters reported of the Kindergarten roundup for fall classes and that there may be more Mrs. Paul Yeager and Mrs. George Walbridge were invited to be members. , Mrs. Allen Shively showed pictures of former spring parties as a part of the program. There was a baby picture contest of the members with prizes going to Mrs. Jane Gaff and Mrs. Betty Coy. A novel recipe sale was conducted with each member having a dish prepared for sampling and copies of the recipe for sale. Mrs. Frank Hale. Mrs. E. W. Hall. Tuesday Bowlers End Season With Banquet Members of the Tuesday afternoon ladies bowling league concluded the season's play with a one o’clock luncheon meeting at the Pickwick Lounge 28 April. Prizes were awarded and officers for the new year were elected. Mrs. Katie Graff and Mrs. Jean Van .Sickle were the banquet committee. Milford Cub Pack Wins A Scout-O-Rama First Cub Pack 47 of Milford won a blue ribbon at the Scout-O-Rama during the week end at Elkhart with their exhibit of wall paper crafts. Twenty-five boys are in the group sponsored by Milford Lions Club. Den mothers assisting at the exhibit included Mrs. Paul Kizer, Mrs. Walter Wutrich. Mrs. Carey Parrott. Mrs. Forrest Ramser, Mrs. Lewis Kitchen. Mrs. John Haughey, Mrs. Darnel Om and Mrs. Robert Brown. Cancer Fund Drive To Be Completed Soon Mrs. Orval Snobarger, chairman in Turkey Creek Township for the Cancer Society, states that the campaign for cancer funds is nearing completion. INDIANA TOWNS LIKE OUR WATER SAFETY PROGRAM Joe Thornburg, president of the Syracuse-Wawasee Water Safety Council, told of letters and requests for information concerning the local water safety program, which he has received recently, at the meeting held Wednesday night at the Legion Hall. Peru is interested in organizing such a program; Claypool. Lake James and Bremen want to organize. Nappanee, Milford, Goshen and Ligonier groups are interested in coming to local beaches for their own programs or to participate ir the Syracuse Wawasee program. Pictures of swimming instruction and life saving demonstrations were shown at the Legion Hall Wednesday and are scheduled for showing at the school next week. Church Council Plans May Fellowship Meet The Syracuse Council of Church Women announced the second annual Fellowship meeting of local church women will be held Wednesday 13 May at 7:30 pan. in the Chrch of God. Rev. Ralph Felix, retired Presbyterian minister who lives now at Quaker Haven near Dewart Lake, will speak on the subject of work with, agricultural migrant workers. While he was serving a church in Ohio. Rev Felix became interested in the problems of the migrant worker and through this interest was placed on the Ohio governor’s committee for such workers. Since his retirement he has devoted his time and interests to promoting the cause by speaking to church gdoups. Mrs. Theo Thomas and Mrs. Garth Haines will sing in duet accompanied by Mrs. Kennord Robinson. Refreshments will be served during the social hour. Women of all churches are cordially invited. Mrs. Ed Schleeter returned to her home in Syracuse Thursday after spending the winter months with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Bartlett in Goshen.
