Obituary . ... CHCMKEY Mrs. Emma Chokey, 69, 215 West Oak Ridge Avenue, died at 4:45 pjn. Friday In the Weaver Convalescent Home, Waterford, where she had been a patient 16 months. Death was caused by heart complications. Mrs. Chokey was born near Nappanee 18 Dec.. 1888, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Moneyheffer. She married Roy E. Chokey 13 Sept, 1913. who survives. Mrs. Chokey was a member of the Gravel ton Church of the Brethren. Others surviving are five sons, Harvey, Charles. Everett and LeRoy, Jr., all of Goshen; and Russell, Syracuse: two daughters. Mrs. Merin (Clarice) Groves Milford, and Mrs. Loyal (Dorothy) Culp, Goshen; 14 grandchildren; two sisters. Mrs. Jesse Frazer, Nappanee, and Mrs. Milo HUI, Elkhart; and a brother, Samuel Moneyhoffer. Nappanee. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 pm. The Rev. Clarence B. Fike officiated and burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery. PENCE Mrs. Mary Miller Pence, 42. a native of Syracuse, died unexpectedly Friday at 3:30 pm. in her home. 221 South Home Street Mishawaka. Mrs. Pence, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Miller. is a former resident of Syracuse and Benton. She is survived by her husband. August, and the following brothers and sisters: Jack and Eugene Miller, both of Goshen; RusseU, Gas City; Paul, Kendallville; and Mrs. Lester Darr and Mrs. Wayne Blakesley. both of Syracuse. Services were held Monday morning at the Bubb Funeral Chapel in Mishawaka. Burial was in the Syracuse cemetery. The SyracuScene . . . Mr. and Mrs. Travis Skipper returned to their home in El Paso, Texas. Wednesday after a ten day visit in the home of Mrs. Skipper's parents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Riddle.
