Red Cross Fund Drive Still Under Quota Collection of Red Cross funds for the 1958 drive in Turkey Creek township reached $548.80 early this week with returns in some areas still incomplete. Mrs. Orin* Smith, chairman of the drive in the township, said that money still to be collected should swell the total to over S6OO. The goal for the township this year was SI,OOO. Anyone who has been missed by those canvassing, or wishes to contribute, may do so during the next two weeks at the State Bank of Syracuse where Mrs. Noble Blocker is receiving donations. Sr. Mothers Conclude Program For This Year The Senior Mothers C"ub me on Monday night 28 April a the home of Mrs. John Roddv for an evening of bingo, in charge of Mrs. John Sheire. Mrs. Orvil Ora was welcomed as a new member of the cltib. It was announced that there were four members who ha r achieved perfect attendance during the year. They were Mrs Lois Schleeter. Mrs. Muriel Sharp. Mrs. Joe Thornburg and Mrs. Deloss Smith. Mrs. Sam Larson won the sunshine plant, while several Bingo prizes were received. The consolation prize went to Mrs Roy Eichsteadt. Members who have not made their reservations for the Spring Party are urged to call Mrs. Deloss Smith before 5 May and confirm a reservation. Hostesses, who were Mrs. Gilbert George and Mirs. Gladys Smith, served a delicious home made pecan pie irith whip cream, and coffee. Tills was the last meeting until the new club year begins next fall. The SyracuScene . . Scouts Attend Great Lakes Encampment Ten Explorer Scouts of Syracuse Post .No. 28 attended an Explorer Scout encampment at Great Lakes Naval Training Station during the past week end. They were accompanied by Explorer Scout advisor Bud Cripe, and Leo Kowallik, district Scout commissioner. The Scouts, along with other posts of Region 7, which includes Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan, were quartered in special barracks, and marched from barracks to mess hall, shapel on Sunday, and other activities. Those who attended the encampment were Jon Appenzeller. Rod Bomman, Steve Bomman. Joe Slabaugh. Don Slabaugh. Mike Disher, Steve Yoder. Ronny Kramer. Terry Mark ham and Dick Kowallik. Junior Mothers Hold Last Club Meet Til Fall Mrs. Nelson Auer was hostess for the Intermediate Mothers Club on Monday evening 28 April. Mrs. Auer, who is vicepresident. conducted the business meeting in the absence of the president. A Scout Cabin board report was given by Mrs. James Stucky. An evening of cards followed the business meeting. Prizes were won by Mrs. Bud Cripe, Mrs. Edward Coy and Mrs. Noble Greene. The Sunshine gift was won by Mrs. Auer. Tasty fruit salad, wafers and coffee were served by Mrs. Auer, assisted by Mrs. S. D. Myers and Mrs. Wayne Tarman. Reservations for the spring party must be made with the secretary.
