Howard Locke was in charge of the lesson Tuesday nigh" at the general meeting of the WSCS of the North Webster Met) odist church. The group is in the process of com leting a study course which will last four weeks. The cutrent topic is Japan and each week there will be various Japanese articles displayed with discussion on same. On the 24 April members of the WSCS will go to Kokomo for the annual Conference to be held at the Main Street church. 12 May will find them at the Simpson church in Elkhart attending the officers training school. There will be a Mother and Daughter banquet at the local church some time in May. WEBSTER GRADE STUDENTS GO ON CHICAGO TOUR Three groups of North Webster grade school Children made trips to Chicago recently. Sixth graders went on a tour of the Field Museum and Aquarium Friday. They were accompanied by their teacher. Ora Benson. Mrs. Hubbard. Mrs. Moser, Mrs. Hamman and Mrs. Reiff. Eldon Clayton drove the bus. Fifth graders went in two sections because of the large number of students in this grade. Mrs. Stooky accompanied the first group Wednesday and Clayton Mock went with the second group Thursday.

Webster H. S. Names Contest Candidates Candidates for King and Queen and Prince and Princess were submitted during assembly Friday morning -at the North Webster High School. The dance which will follow the crowning of the King and Queen will be held on Friday night 25 April from 9:00 to 12:00 CST Representing the senior class are Roberta Hudson and Don Fbrverda. Brenda Richard and Keith Enyeart, juniors; Marsha Richard and Jon Sroufe. sophomores: and Caroyln Leap and John Needier, freshman. The King and Queen will be taken from these 4 grades. The prince and princess will represent the Junior high grades, and names submitted for this position are Karen Hinesly and Norman Lower. Bth grade; Linda Snyder and Jack Rhodes, 7th grade. Winners will be chosen by the penny-a-vote method, no one knowing the results until one hour before the dance begins on Friday night. The program will be held in the school cafeteria. The dance is sponsored by the Junior Class which will also be in charge of refreshments, and all proceeds will go to the Senior class. Admission is 50c per couple and 35c for a single admission. WEBSTER PYTHIAN SISTERS Twenty-three sisters attended the regular meeting Monday night of the North Webster Lakeview Temple 448 of Pythian. After a short business meeting the past chiefs were in charge of White Elephant Bingo. Lovely aprons were the • outstanding prizes. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Dan Hatfield and Mrs. Russell Engle.

YV COSY Bi nOInOS IWO For Girls State Members of the North Webster Women’s Auxiliary appointed two girls Tuesday night to go to Girls State. They are Linda Larsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Larsen, of North Webster, and Sue Carbin. alternate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Corbin, also of North Webster. Plans were also made at this meeting for the Auxiliary Mother and Daughter Banquet to be held at the Legion Hall on 20 May. Five gold star mothers will be honored at the banquet. They are Mrs. Carl Greider, Mrs. Edith Kesterson. Mrs. May Whittacre. Mrs. Eva Gebert, and Mrs May Heddens. Webster Firemen To Take first Aid Course The North Webster fire department received word recently that the long-awaited first aid classes will be available to them in the near future. There will be 23 firemen who will take advantage of these classes, learning all the latest first aid techniques. Youth Rally At Webster Church of God Sunday The North Webster Church of God will be host to a Youth Rally on Sunday afternoon. 27 April at 2:30 pm. CDT. There will be young peapie present from all of Northern Indiana and the program will feature special music from all groups. Following the worship sen ice there will be a social hour. WEBSTER HI C CLUB Randy Poinner, a Grace College student, was guest speaker Tuesday night at the North Webster Hl C club at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Templeton. Mr. Poinner entertained with 2 vocal solos, and sang a duet with Dorothy Engelberth. There were two guests present. Several* games were played. Hrected by Mrs. Templeton and Mr. Poinner. All participated in group singing. The SyracuScene . . . Mr. and Mrs. Kent Rosenberry of Elkhart were guests of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rosenberry, for the week end. Mrs. W. E. Long returned Friday from Sarasota. Florida. Mr. Long remained to attend a Bakers’ Convention before coming north for the summer. Mrs, Bessie Aiken of Goshen who had been visiting in Florida accompanied Mrs. Long. Mrs. Mary Hoy and Mrs. Effie Spencer spent several days in Chicago early this week. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Strieby of .Chicago have been spending sev‘eral weeks at their farm home south of town. Mr. and Mrs. Devon Lippincott and granddaughter of MilFord spent Sunday afternoon with her mother, Mrs. Ketering, and daughter. Hazel. Mrs. John Roberts of North Webster called at the J. C. Bailley home Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. William Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bailey of Fort Wayne visited with Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Bailey Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cripe and family spent Sunday with the Harold Curry family at Columbia City. Son Dick Curry has been discharged from the army. Mrs. Glen Treesh and three children of Waubee Lake with her father and mother, the Wm. Geigers, celebrated her birthday by having dinner at Foo and Fayes and spending the afternoon at Oswego with her sisters. Mrs. Ira Shue and Mrs. Robert; Miller and families. Miss Sharon Bowman, a sen-: ior student nurse at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, was a guest of Barbara Harley at the Montel home Wednesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Artie Montel visited Howard Oberhulser of North Manchester, a brother-in-law, who has been confined to the St. Joseph Hospital in Port Wayne for several months. He is suffering from a broken pelvis which he received in a fall thru the bam floor to the cattie stable below.
