Easter Message . . .

‘Thinks be unto God. Who giveth us the victory through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Ist Cor. 15:57. . This verse of Scripture gives us certainty of Life after Death. It tells us that Christ Lives and we shall live also. This is the certainty of Easter. You have perhaps heard the story of the Hindu Holy Fakir with matted hair and ash-be smeared body who was sitting in deep meditation beneath a tree, when he saw a torn leaf from a New Testament. Reading it. strange thoughts enterer his hungry soul. They seemed “to take him by the hand and lead hjm to the Father.” He sought out a man to teach him of this Wonderful Book, and his guide was an Englishman who wore black crape on his sleeve. Supposing it to be the mark of a Christian, he placed a similar one on his arm. Later he entered a Christian church to hear its truth expounded. At the close of Past Matrons Initiate New Members Tuesday Twenty members of the Past Matrons Club met Tuesday evening for their annual birthday party. After a short business meeting Mrs. Birdella Pfingst who has been president during the past yean turned over the gavel to Mrs. Rubydean Worth, new president. A smorgasbord dinner at the Westminster Hotel in Winona completed the program. It was also an evening of surprises since it was 1 April. the service he announced that he. too, was a believer, and pointed to his crape-bedecked arm in proof thereof. When told that the band was an English sign of the death of a loved one. the Fakir thought a moment, and then said: “But I read in the Book that my loved one has died: so I shall wear it in memory of Him.” Later still, he grasped the idea of the Resurrection, and realized that his “LOVED ONE” was alive forevermore. Thereupon a great joy filled his heart, and the light of the ■ Resurrection shone in his face. This is the fact that Easter brings to the heart, of every person. This same joy can fill your heart and mine this Easter time and, throughout the year if we open our hearts and minds and let this Loved One enter to dwell the rest of our lives. bodgiant that Victorious Living shall'be. ours through this same Jesus ; Christ our Lord. i Rev.
