Larry works at Mock’s Marine Service, and plans to work in the future. His plans are not definite. His pet peeve is: Girls that smoke. The only change he would make in school, if he could do it over, would be to study harder. SYRACUSE JR. HIGH WHIPS PIERCETON 49—18 Syracuse Jr. High defeated Pierceton by a score of 49—18. It was the fourth win for the Jackets and the first defeat for Cubs. Williams and Coy were : the high men with 13 points 1 each. The second team defeated their foes by a score of 24—17. The next game will be played with North Webster 19 December at home.

The boys are attending the National Junior Vegetable Growers Convention at Spring - field, Illinois. Last week Don was in Chicago attending the National 4-H Club Congress. Boys, we envy you your vacations from school. Pollyanna 4-H Club December 2 at the achievement banquet we found out “who’s who.” Among the awards given were the Key Awards, which were given to Martha Firestone, Bill Dorsey, and Ronnie Roberts. Bill was Master of Ceremonies and Mr. Pjdant and Mrs. Heaton presented the awards. Freshman Basketball Our team so far this season has a 2-2 record. We beat Webster 28-18 and Larwill 50-16. We lost to Goshen 36-39 and Bremen 27-42. Now that Thanksgiving is over and our vacation is gone, we can hardly wait for Christmas. Jr. Ladies On Monday, 2 December the Jr. Ladles of the Round Table held our December meeting at Sue Herdricks’ house. The answer to roll call was our favorite Christmas carol. Patti Dreher and Judy Kline gave a lesson on making candy houses. Gifts were then exchanged. Sue Herdrick, hostess, and Sher ill Tarman, co-hostess served refreshments. Senior Class A special meeting was called Tuesday, 2 December to elect a new student Council member. Sharon Treadway was elected. Sandy Miller reported on the turkey dinner. It will be held 11 December at 7:00 P. M. The class was reminded to please order personal cards. Syracuse Freshmen Lose to Goshen 36-29 After winning the opener from North Webster the local squad has dropped two games one to Bremen 42-27 and one to Goshen 36-29. The local boys were in both games up to the closing minutes, but found too much height on the opponents. Sophomore Class News We have been doing very well in our hat and coat check this year. Feature Story Mr. Boggs, who was a lab technician of the Ohio prison, showed a film of the prison as he saw it. He also had some gadgets and ornaments that prisoners had made.
