Telephone Directory To Be Issued In January United Telephone Company offtcals in Warsaw announced this week that January 21 will be the effeclve date of a new telephone directory now being prepared for the Warsaw area. Ordinarily, the Warsaw area telephone directory is distributed each year in November. However. since the telephone company issued a new directory only fast August when the Warsaw exchange was converted to dial st’-vice, the decision was made to oinit the usual November publichtion and to schedule the Warfcw directory as a January issue in 1958 and subsequent years. In addition to United’s exInge listings for Cromwell, sburg, Milford, North Web- •, Pierceton, Syracuse and rsaw, the January directory include alphabetical listings subscribers at the General ephone Company exchanges the Warsaw toll center area. ;se exchanges are Atwood, •ket, Etna Green, Mentone, Iwood and Tippecanoe. The Tippecanoe exchange is a new addition to the Warsaw directory. Tippecanoe was converted to dial on 17 November and “direct distance dialing” within the Warsaw tool center (area is now possible on toll calls to and from Tippecanoe. Club Notes . . . EBENEZER LADIES AID The Ebenezer Ladies Aid met at the home of Mrs. Chris Troyer Thursday afternoon 21 November with thirty members present and two visitors, Mrs. Shell and Mrs. Krum. Mrs. Bemita Ruple, president, presided over the business meeting. Mrs. Orvil Orn gave very interesting devotions which ink eluded the story of “The First Thanksgiving.” A project of the organization is to remember the children of the Flat Rock Orphanage, Flat Rock, Ohio, Christmas time. A fifty dollar check will be mailed to them in time for Christmas. A clever contest entitled Harvest Bounty was conducted by Mrs. Viola Bell. Mrs. Howard Bitner won the prize. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess and her cohostesses, Mrs. Laura Secrist, Mrs. Viola Bell and Mrs. Orvil Orn. The Christmas meeting will be held at the Hex Grange Hall 19 December with a cooperative > dinner at noon and a fifty cent gift exchange and program in the afternoon. Mrs. Dave Brown will head the hostess commitee which includes Mrs. Wilmot Jones, Sr. and Mrs. Lewis Firestone. Dr. and Mrs. Eugene Yoder and Nancy were in southern Indiana during the past week end »where they visited their son, Mike, at Muscatatuck State School, and also visited Mrs. Yoder’s mother. Mrs. Mamie Wesner, at her home in New * Albany.
