Another guy! And a great favorite in the senior class, too, '.ath girls and boys both. P.m 11 March 1939, Eddie Anglemyer joined us in the second grade. Ed is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Anglemyer. He was our president his freshman year and vice-president his junior and senior years; he has been student manager these last two years; in cross country and track his senior year; and band all four years, winning a first with the trumpet trio at the state music contest. Ed has a few dislikes; one is guys who try to act real tough; the other, being such a great help himself, Ed dislikes to see kids who do not try to help with class activities. But now for his many likes, the main ones being girls, food, and sleep. From that point on he

(We girls could argue that point, but it’s hopeless). Ed works, on the side, at Thornburg’s Drug Store. He told us that if he could go back a few years and start over, he would study harder to make better grades and make it a little easier on the teachers. We think he did pretty well, though. He plans to go to college after graduation. OUr class wishes the best of luck to a deserving guy. SENIOR CLASS The senior class received their pictures Wednesday afternoon. Everyone seemed well pleased with their pictures. We didn’t know we were so handsome, did we class? JUNIORCLASS On Wednesday 13 November the Junior class had a class meeting. Suzi Brown asked for volunteers to sack popcorn. She also reminded the juniors selling at the ball games to hand in their loose change after selling. The problem of warm pop was also discussed. FRESHMAN CLASS Say boys, we’re proud of you! That was a smashing game with Concord Friday. At this sock hop we had something to dance about! The freshmen team beat North Webster 28 to 19 in our first game of the season. We hope they can do as well the rest of the year. JUNIOR LADIES On Monday evening 18 November a formal initiation of the Junior Ladies of the Round Table was held at Priscilla Rhode’s home. The new members were officially taken into the club. At a short business meeting, names were drawn for a Christmas exchange. Refreshments were served by hostess, Priscilla Rhode, and cohostess, Ruth Meredith. Too Late For Last Week’s Paper FRESHMAN CLASS Congratulations, team, two points isn’t much to lose by. Good luck with Atwood land Concord this week. x Carolyn Barnhart was moved up to be second team cheerleader and Linda Byrd, who was the runner-up for freshman cheerleader, is taking her place with the freshman group. Our class enjoyed the sock hop after the game and we hope there will be more of them. We are proud of Diane Martin and David Cobbum, both freshmen, who tied for first place in the poster contest. —Anita Rogers JUNIOR HIGH CLOSE LOSER Syracuse Junior High lost a hard battle to Ligonier last Thursday night. This was the first game of the season for the basketball team and they were fighting all the way. Once we were six points ahead, but lost it very fast. Since we were on different time we only played one game and many of the second players were disappointed. The next game will be with Milford here on 14 November. NEW STUDENTS The Syracuse School wishes to welcome Mike McGrath an eighth grader from San Deigo, California; Bonnie Cripe, a junior and Linda Cripe, a sophomore, from Goshen to our school.
