Club Notes . . . GOODWILL HOME EC. CLUB The Goodwill Home Economics Club were served a turkey dinner at Howard’s Restaurant, Lake Wawasee, last Wednesday. The tables were in a V shape decorated in a Thanksgiving theme. Thirty-four members and two guests, Mrs. Dallas Cox and Mrs. John Hinderer, were present. Mrs. Delbert Brown and Mrs. Merton Bushong sang two numbers. Two humorous readings, “My Pop” and “Aunt Susannah’s Troubles on the Farm” were given by Mrs. Elmo Shock. A club prophecy was read by Mrst Marie LeCount. The door prize was won by Mrs. Lee Henwood. Members who served on the committee were Mrs. Paul Brewer, chairman; Mrs. Marie LeCount and Mrs. Ray Cripe. The meeting was adjourned by singing the club’s prayer song. FRIENDLY NEIGHBORS CLUB The regular meeting of the Friendly Neighbors Club was held on Wednesday 6 November at the Turkey Creek Conservation Club, with a pot luck luncheon for the main event. tractively arranged. Each member had been asked to bring a white elephant which was used as a prize for the bingo games which followed the luncheon. Mrs. Vance Moots, president, appointed Mrs. Herbert Michaels, Mrs. Al Burson and Mrs. Rosa Click as a nominating committee for 1958 officers. Mrs. Robert Williams and Mrs. James Ballard were hostesses for the afternoon. The next meeting will be the Christmas party on 4 December, to which each member is asked to bring a dollar gift. THE TURKEY CREEK CONSERVATION CLUB The Turkey Creek Conservation Club held a regular business meeting on Tuesday evening, 5 November at the club house. Plans for the next square dance which is to be on 22 November, were discussedx The next teenage dance will be held on 29 November. Both dances will begin at 8:00 p. m. C.D.S. Plans to buy a Christmas tree from the Syracuse Boy Scouts were also discussed before the meeting was concluded. Webster Club Notes WEBSTER HI C ENJOYS DISC JOCKEY SESSION Members of the North Webster Hi C enjoyed a disc jockey session Tuesday night with music provided by Larry Jordan of Winona. The young folks were given musical questionnaires to fill out as the records were being played. The songs* were of both religious and popular types. Mrs. James Templeton, hostess, announced Family Night to be held Saturday night 16 November, 7:30 p. m. C.S.T., in the ladies’ building at the Warsaw fairgrounds. Camp Fire Girls WE-MA-TAN-O-KI We had our business meeting, then we discussed our trail seekers desire and talked about our requirements. Then we sang our camp fire song. Scribe, Barbara Arnold. scheduled for 19 November will feature a magician from Grace College, which promises a very enjoyable evening. Sarah Shoemaker, Ilene Kline and Linda Popenfoose asssited Mrs. Templeton with refreshments. WEBSTER LADY LIONS Mrs. Lawrence Wllcoxson, newly elected president of the North Webster Lady Lions, took over the presidential duties at the November meeting. Other officers assuming new duties were Mrs. Phil Payne, vice-president and publicity chairman; Mrs. Marc Copeland, secretary; and Mrs. John Koontz, treasurer. Roll call was answered by naming “the thing for which I am most thankful.” Final arrangements were made for a Christmas dinner to be held 4 December at Foo and Faye’s Restaurant near Syracuse. At this time secret pals will be revealed*. Plans were also completed to assist at the Jonah Club Fish Fry which the Lions Club is sponsoring. Mrs. Gaylord Toll and Mrs. Phil Payne assisted Mrs. David Payne, hostess, with refreshments. WEBSTER W. C. T. U. The North Webster W.C.T.U. met at the home of Mrs. John Shock. Mrs. Joe Barrett used a Thanksgiving theme for the devotional period and Mrs. Gaynelle Daly gave a resume of a recent address by the national W.C.T.U. president, replacing the usual lesson study. The ladies decided to make scrap books for the Veterans Hospital at Fort Wayne during the December session which will be held at the Church of the Brethren. It is also planned to donate a number of individual New Testament gospels to the hospital in the near future. Mrs. Shock served refreshments to the eleven people present.
