J. Barton Cox Is Guest Speaker At BPW Tues. J. Barton Cox gave a most entertaining program by showing his colored slides of an eastern trip taken in June of this year, to the members of the Syracuse Business and Professional Women’s Club Tuesday night at their dinner meeting at Foo and Faye’s. Many pictures in New York included the United Nations building, the New York harbor and Rockefeller Center. Other pictures of historical interest, particularly, were taken at Gettysburg, in and around Boston and at Plymouth during the time the second Mayflower was scheduled to arrive at Plymouth Rock. Preceding the program 26 members and four guests enjoyed an excellent dinner with all but a few choosing the Chinese dishes. Egg roll and individual servings of San Shoo Beef were served. Reports of the succesful rummage sale, which netted $344, were gft-en during the business meeting. Proceeds from the King and Queen Cutie contest climaxed at the PTA Halloween Festival were $49.72 and one member added to the amount to make it an even SSO for contributing to the PTA funds. The annual Candy and Cookie Sale to be held at the Dixie Restaurant was scheduled for Saturday 21 December. . It was decided not to have the contest for exterior Christmas decorating this year. The money set aside for prizes will be assigned to another project. The committee will make its recommendation for the use of this money at the next meeting. Guests attending were Mrs. Dwight Mock, Mrs. Paul Levernier, Mrs. Melville Smith and Mr. Cox._ Hostess committee for the evening included Mrs. Dale Plummer, Sr., Mrs. J. B. Cox, and Mrs. Rodney Koontz. They had decorated the long table with a Thanksgiving theme of harvest colors, leaves and fruits centered with gay turkeys and miniature pilgrims.
