Pollock Wilkinson Vows Read Sun* Miss Marlene Kay Wilkinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilkinson, and Pfc. Paul Dean Pollock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pollock, were united in marriage Sunday afternoon 5 May at 2:30 in the Syracuse Calvary E.U.B. Church. The Rev. Kenneth Foulke, pastor of the church, officiated at the double ring ceremony in the presence of 100 guests. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by Miss Freda Vorhis. Larry Mock served as best man. As the organist, Mrs. Merton Bushong, played traditional nuptial selections, the guests were seated by Richard Weeks, uncle of the groom, and Gerald Bitner, cousin of the bride. The organist also accompanied Miss Susan Darr who sang “I Love You Truly,” “Because,” and “O, Promise Me.” Bouquets of white snapdragons and lighted tapers formed a decorative setting in the church. Pink and While Gown The bride was attired in a ballerina length gown of white nJlon over net and bridal satin, fashioned with a pink cummerbund which formed a large bow at the back. Her headband and veil were pink and she carried white carnations and pink rosebuds on a white Bible. Miss Vorhis wore a ballerina length gown of white nylon eyelet lace over aqua satin, fashioned like the bride’s gown with
Dawn Eberly Injured In Recent Auto Mishap Dawn Eberly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Eberly of North Webster, suffered a broken collar bone Monday evening when she fell from a moving automobile. Dawn received hospital treatment but is now at home and will probably be able to resume her school studies soon. an aqua cummerbund forming a bow in the back. She had a matching headband and carried yellow carnations on a white Testament. A reception was held at the Hex Grange Hall following the ceremony. Decorations were in pink and white and the tables were appointed with bouquets of lilies-of-the-valley. Mrs. Gerald Bitner was in charge of the guest book. Serving at the reception were Mrs. Jack Forrest and Mrs. Marshall Britton, cousins of the bride. Leave For California After a wedding trip to California, the couple will make their home near Camp Pendleton where Pfc. Pollock is stationed with the United States Marine Corps. Both the bride and groom are graduates of Syracuse High School. The bride was formerly employed at Thornburg’s Drug Store in Syracuse. Out-of-town wedding guests came from Fort Wayne, South Bend, Nappanee, Cromwell, Ligonier, Avilla, Albion, Goshen, North Manchester, LaPorte, Lafayette and Kingman.
Webster 4-H Girls Give Demonstrations Three members of the North Webster 4-H girls gave demonstrations at last weeks meeting. Linda Wagoner gave one on baking; Betty Clayton, food preservation; and Johanna Wright, clothing. Health and safety leader, Joan Royer, gave a written test to the group. The girls are selling pen and pencil sets to increase club funds. Alice May Stump was in charge of group singing. Roll call was answered by the best liked sport. This will be the last meeting until the local judging by Mrs. McCleary in July. MUSHROOM HARVEST! Four North Webster men brought home enough mushrooms Sunday morning to fill an orange crate level. Paul Beezley, Leroy Beezley, Ellis Koher and Bill Beezley found the mushrooms in a woods near Wilmot. They estimated a count of approximately 500 of the large sponge variety. SLUMBER PARTY Six North Webster girls had a slumber party Friday night at a cabin at Fisherman’s Cove. Those attending the party were Joan Royer, Rita Huffman, Kathy Kline, Peggy Huffman, Jill Sullivan and Linda Miller. The cabin is owner by Robert Huffman, father bf two of the girls. Honor Mothers And Daughters At Banquet Fifty mothers and daughters attended the Mother and Daughter Banquet at the North Webster Legion Hall Tuesday .night. Five Gold Star mothers were honored. They were Mrs. Edith Kesterson, Mrs. Vida Greider, Mrs. Mae Whittacre, Mrs. Eva Gebert, and Mrs. John Heddens. Mrs. W. J. Cahill of Lafayette, the district president, gave a talk. Also present was Mrs. Robert Davidson who is the department northern vice-president. Several special numbers in song were given by two of the local group.
