Club Notes CONSERVATION CLUB The Turkey Creek Conservation Club met Tuesday 7 May at 8:00 with five officers answering roll call. President Herbert Michael presided over the regular business meeting. Cleo Green is to buy paint for the outside of the club house which is to be painted soon. A rifle club for young boys w s proposed and it was decided to get a representative to discuss tl e possibilities of such a club.

Band Concert Tonite
Weekly club parties will begin 7 June and the public is cordially invited. The next square dance will be held Saturday 1 June at 8:00 p. m. There will be a potluck supper Thursday 16 May at 8:00 p. m. Everybody is welcome. SYRACUSE SADDLE CLUB The Syracuse Saddle Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Good Monday night 6 May for a weiner roast. President Jim Chambers presided during the business session. The next meeting will be held 3 June at the Cliff Detwiler home southeast of New Paris'. It will be a pot-luck supper. Tickets for a beautiful spotted pony to be given away at the Horse Show 9 June are available from club members and the firemen. BUNCO CLUB The Bunco Club met Thursday night at the home of Mrs. Frank Ringler of North Webster with Mrs. Ernest Rogers assisting. Prizes were won by Mrs. Warren Benson, Mrs. C. Lantz, and Mi's. Loyd Hart. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses. The next meeting will be held at the home df Mrs. Bill Eyer with Mrs. Don Nyce assisting. Mothers Entertained By Home Ec Classes Members of the Home Economics classes presented a dress review Thursday evening 2 May at the school house with their mothers a$ guests. Mrs. Frances Heaton directs the classes. Miss Joan Swenson, sophomore, welcomed the guests and was narrator for the show which was staged in the old ‘ gym. Guests were seated at small tables. First on the program were beginning seamstresses of the seventh grade who had made dirndl skirts and fringed head scarves as beginning projects to learn basic techniques in straight line sewing and weaving of threads in cloth. They had also made plate carriers for practice in curved line stitching and button holing. Aprons were also displayed by this class. Participating in this group were Mary Ann Brock, Sherrie Brown, Renee Crow, Carolyn Disher, Dee Ann Disher, Dianne Ellis, Janice Marie Gilbert, Dbllores Hapner, Joyce Hapner, Jackie Jessup, Zelma Kilmer, Sharon Losee, Marilyn Martin, Michele Miller, Sally Mabie, Patty Mock, Judy Myers, Jane Searfoss, Sharon Smith, Janet Swenson, Jill Thornburg, and Jody Wilson. In the second group of ninth grade students, study of line and proportion, type, color harmony, fabric study and individual tastes were considered giving a wider selection of styles for the skirts and blouses displayed. Showing their completed projects were Irene Culp, Kay Bender. Beverly Mey, Carloyn Denton, Myrna Wilson, Sharon Tarman, Sue Stage, Brenda Stabler, Mary Simon, Nancy I. Powell, Nancy Michael, and Marsha Crow. While the eleventh and twelfth grade girls were preparing for the last group to be shown, Miss Judy Kline entertained with a piano solo and accompained the lovely contralto Kosciusko County Receives B&O Tax The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad recently sent a check for $21,059.75 to the treasurer of Kosciusko County at Warsaw, Indiana. This check is in payment, of the railroad’s property taxes in the county for the first half of 1956. For the entire year of 1956, the B&O’s taxes in Kosciusko County exceeded $42,110.00. The B&O 1 system total tax bill for 1956 was $31,000,000.00 or over $1,000,000.00 above its net income.
