Social Side Os Basketball Game By Sandy De Gross A correction on last week’s column: Stanley Hoopingarner is assistant coach and coach of the freshmen team instead of second team coach as reported. Fans at Friday night’s game saw Jackets sporting beautiful new blue uniforms with gold and white trim. “Real Cool” was the comment from many spectators. Pierceton needs a new score board or the old one fixed. Difficulty in following the fast moving score prevailed as the board was definitely on the blink. An appeal from cheerleaders: “Would two certain sophomores and a few eighth graders yell when they seat themselves in the booster section?” This section did a very splendid job and the cheerleaders led spirited yells thruout the game, although Jackets were continuously behind Sue Herdrich was unable to attend the game due to illness. was different and cute. Junior high members of the booster club wanted cheerleaders, Janet Riley and Brenda Stabler, to yell “Satisified." One senior high members’ comment: “Heavens”, we’re not satisified? What should we yell that for?” Score—49 to 17. Dennis and Dallas Bjella, if anyone can tell those two apart, have some admirers. Overheard. “If Dennis and Dallas had been on the floor in the first place, we might have gone somewhere.” Those fellows did put some action into the game, although hopes for Syracuse remained small, as only a few minutes of play remained.
