Friendship Gardens By George Julian Having been called by a travel bureau representative that I must see the International Friendship Gardens at the east side of Michigan City, Indiana, Am I surprised. Too many of us think that beauty prevails two thousand miles away by auto-flight. You should travel just east from Chicago fifty-five miles, or whatever your distance, to these famous gardens and get the thrill that was given to me. Walking in with the weeping willows giving an appearance of the hanging moss on the trees in the south land, fresh green lawns spotted with flowers and beautiful evergreens now taking part in what is being celebrated as the Twentieth Anniversary, on to see several men grooming and caring for the roses in the Persian Rose Garden which will be the feature attraction about June 15 to July 15. Past the historic Alaska Building, of A Century of Progress, given to the enterprise by the Federal Government as their part in the world peace project (without politics, I was told) many vistas and points of interest, then a drink from the well that it is said to be the one from which Father Marquette drank back in 1675. If only the Pottawattamies and Father Marquette could see this Indian stamping grounds now—glorified with flowers from around the world. This was sure a day to work my camera, for pictures are in every direction . The Peonies, thousands of them, will have out-numbered my films this time, but I will come often now since I know of such welcome for flower lovers. » Capture the MELLOW CHARM of OLD.WILLIAMSBURG The loveliness of / old colonial homes ' is captured in NU- WL ii DA Velvet Sheen ... plus protection ana durability *IL ' known only to modern paint science.
