' SIMPLER, ANYWAY An intriguing my-how-times-have-changed item was provided recently by a University of Minnesota man, class of ‘O6. When the annual freshman-sophomore brawl got out of hand in 1903, he recalls, the university president appeared in his Prince Albert and derby, glared upon the scene of battle and roared. “Israel, disperse to your tents.” Whereupon, 10. the students did indeed disperse. Sterner neasurers—up to and including the ministrations of campus police—are employed these days, and with good reason. Most students of our time would have trouble recognizing the prexy. And if he yelled, “Israel, disperse to your tents,” they would conclude either that he was pro-Arab or that his efforts to extract funds from reluctant alumni and legislators had finally sent him off his rocker. This does not prove that life in the old days was better. But it certainly Indicates that it was simpler—for college presidents anyway. C. Fox, Hudson and Mrs. William Gorsuch of Kimmell both sisters of the bride were bridesmaids. Estin Vogel, Lansing, Mich., was best man and Ronald T. Feeby, brother of the bridegroom, and Joseph T. Butler brother of the bride, ushers. Mr. and Mrs. Don Smith and Greg and Susie of R.R. 2 enjoyed a day’s outing at Michigan City on Tuesday.
