The Junior High will play North Webster Wednesday 14 September at Webster. One New Eight Grader The Bth grade has one new student. His name is Rudy Hoffman. "th Grade Names Reporter Wednseday 7 September 1955 the 7th grade met in Study Hall 2. to elect a reporter. Donna Moots was elected. 6 New 7th Graders The class is very haopy to have six new pupils in the 7th grade this year. They are Karen Lundgren—Detroit. Michigan: Joan Karesch—Wisconsin; Sue Anne Juday—Cromwell. Ind..: Dennis Gose—Ligonier. Ind.: and Steve Dodds— Virginia. The Seventh Graders are very sorry to lose one pupil. Valerie Michaels. She has moved to Michigan. < Anita Rodgers left us for a few weeks for a vacation through the West. Junior Ladies Organize The Junior Ladies held their first meeting Monday 12 September 1955. SARDEN CLUB DISCUSSES PLANS Five members of the Shelter Wood Garden Club met at Foo and Faye’s Cantonese Restaurant Tuesday evening 6 Sept. Present were Mrs. Oscar Benson. Mrs. Vernon Beckman. Mrs. Robert Wilkerson. Mrs. Estelle Swartz and Mrs. Herbert Linvill. Programs for the coming year and a club project were discussed at the business meeting at Mrs. Linvill's home following dinner. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 4 October. Oakwood Park The Rev. and Mrs. Arnold Ettenhofer and children of Ohio are new owners of the Marshall last weekend from Mr. and Mrs. O. R Marshall. They spent the past week here in the cottage. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Davis and daughter Marilyn and Miss Karen Tillson of Boggstown. Indiana were in the Engel Rest cottage for the past week. Mr. and Mrs. John Hirchman and children spent the past week with their mother. Mrs. Marguerite Hirchman. in her cottage. The Hirchman’s are from Dayton. Ohio. Mrs. Grace Soltan had with her the past week her grandson Elwood Roadbaugh and wife and family from Dayton. Ohio In the Brembeck cottage the past week were Mr. and Mrs. Winston Brembeck and children of Madison. Wisconsin. Mrs. Charles L. Hartman spent several days with her friend 1 . Mrs. Elmer Lynch, of Elkhart. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Snider of Indianapolis were in their place the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Orwer of Indianapolis had with them j their son. Spending the weekend in their cottage were Mr and Mrs. Paul Ruth and daughter of South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Baer spent the weekend in their cottage.

FUTURE TEACHERS MEET The Future Teachers Club held their first business meeting of the school year Wednesday 7 September in the classroom of the sponsor, Mrs. Mary E. Peters. The club membership rolls are to be opened for new members. Notice has been given to the student body that candidates for membership shall present their names to Bea Bachman by 16 September. Plans were made for the next meeting which will be held 21 September at the home of Carol Dreher. Senior "Who's Who's" Begin This Week Beginning this week, a series of“ Who's Who" articles will decree various members of the yracu'e High School Class of 1956—this year's Seniors. First of the 49 sketches follow’s. While or. vacation we decided to stop a*, our home town of Syracuse. Indiana. Driving through town, we noticed a sign outside of a new beauty shop. It seemed to be doing a good business, for the parking lot was full. Naturally this aroused our curiosity and Darlene said, "let's stop and see what the attraction is!” As we entered the shop we heard strains of Stan Kenton’s band and as we glanced over at the head beautician she looked familar. She had black hair, brown eyes, was five feet, three inches tall. After carefully looking her oyer, Darlene let out a shriek. “It's Ruth Ann Cory!” And sure enough, it w’as. Wasn’t this reason enough fbr [ all the cars? After having our hair done, which was a beautiful job, we invited Ruth to eat dinner with us. Even though stopping at a very fine local restaurant. Ruth ordered her favorite food since "school days.” "Hamburgers!" After talking over old times, including "sleepless" slumber parties, we discovered how late it was and left Ruth at her doorstep, wishing her well and hoping that we could get back to Syrause our next vacation to look up some more of our school pals of the graduation class of 1956. • We were sent to the Medical Protective building in Fort Wayne. Indiana, to cover a story on their employees and how they work. Upon entering the outer office of B. J. SCott, Vice-President of the firm, we were greeted by a pleasant receptidnest who said, "You may go in. Mr. Scott will see you now.” We entered the room noticing that Deanna Kay Grindle was B. Freshmen Finish Elections * Wednesday 7 September 1955 the class of “59” held their second class meeting of the year. They elected Dixie Murphy, vicepresident and Sherill Tarman. reporter. Six New Freshmen Freshmen welcome the newcomers in their class. They are Susan Brown, Judy Einrick, Nancy Shuder, John Cripe, Ronnie Hibschman and Milton Karesh. Fifth Grade News Mr. Alien’s Room On Tuesday and Thursday we have band. Wednesday and Friday we have music. Monday we have art. There were 31 children in our room. There are 16 girls and 15 toys .On Monday we got a new girl which makes 32 children. Her name is Shirley Coquillard. The Librarian passed out cards for us to take home to fill out. We brought them back for a new library card. We won’t have to go to the library anymore. They are going to bring the books down to the school every Tuesday. We get our cards on September 13th. We are having, a hobby show in our room. Jimmy Stefanski brought his money collection. Danny Bill Jones brought twelve two dollar bills. Melody Gustafson brought a hand puppet and marionette. We have been studying about Alaska in Geography. It has been very interesting.
