Grace Lutheran Church The Senior Choir of Grace Lutheran Church will sponsor a carry-in dinner Tuesday evening. November 30. at 6:00 o’clock. You are asked to bring your own table service. Following the dinner you will enjoy two colored sound films: “The Questing Mind” and “American Harvest". Please mark this date on your calander and join with us for a pleasant evening. School News •Ruth RappOn Tuesday morning we visited the library. Miss Bowser explained borrowing library books, read us two stories about “Old Man Rabbits Thanksgiving Dinner” and “The Rooster and the Hen”, also the poem, “Over the River and Thru the Wood.” Each child received a nice book mark which we are using in our readers. “Thank you. Miss Bowser for a very enjoyable visit.” \ Thursday the County atfurse, Mrs. Nine and Dr. Mathews gave shots to the children, returning the slips that had been previouslysent out. Children absent this day will receive the shots in December. Hearing tests were given to all Ist graders in the afternoon. Notes were sent home on Friday concerning the eye test. Friday p.m. Miss Stieglitz 2nd grade visited Us and told us. their poems on “Good Book Week”, also instructions on the correct and proper way to open a new book. Thank you very much and we hope you come Visitors this week were Mrs. Maarice Koher: Mrs. Lyle Sieffert and Mrs. Eugene Henning and Baby Brother Timothy. We have startecr a new unit in our basic readers called “Animal Friends.” ■ Row number five is the winner of our Arithmetic contest. We have small contests everyday and the winner for that day receives a certain number of points. At the end of the week we add the num- , ber of points each row has to see H ho won. Last Friday we visited the first grades and enjoyed telling them our little poems about books.

This week is a short school week because of Thanksgiving Vacation. We all send wishes from our room to your house for a Blessed and ' Happy Thanksgiving. While we were there she read us interesting stories and gave us each book,markera. Most of us are already friends of Miss Bowser because we borrow books. We enjoyed our visit. We elected 1 new officers for our Book Club for the third six-weeks. Pat Bornman was chosen to be president and Sue Bender to put the stars on the.chart. We had a spelling bee to review our words. Dennis Buhrt's team won. Larry Fitzgerald and Pat Appenzeller were the only students who did not misspell any words on tests this six weeks.
