Papakeechie Lake Ann Kowallik entertained fourteen animals and big game hunters at a Halloween party Saturday afternoon. Becky Smith and Tom Spurting won costume prizes as a tiger and black cat because no one could guess who they were. Various animal games were played with Steve Smith, Ann Kowallik, Jack Brazel, and Gregg Smith having high scores. Each guest was given a Halloween noisemaker and refreshments of donuts and root beer were served. Girl Scout News ♦ ♦. The Girl Scout Committee Meetinig will meet Thursday 4 November at the Dixie Restaurant at 3:45 pun. We ended with i a good-night circle singing “Taps.” The Girl Scouts met Tuesday.' First we sang some songs and then we went to our patrols. In patrol we practiced the first five laws and gave the Girl Scout promise. Idr. and Mrs. Dee Stiver left Thursday for Tippy Dam, near Brethren. Michigan, to fish for steelhead trout. Mr. and Mrs. Dally Kitson joined them Saturday. They returned Sunday with two beautiful trout. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Ohlingschlager had as their guests for the past week Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ohlingschlager, parents of Mr. Olingschlager from La Salle, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs,, Emerson Ohlinglager left Monday for a business trip and spent a few days at La Salle. Dr. and Mrs. Eugene Yoder have returned from a fall vacation trip through the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley. They report that altho it was lovely through the East, the trees were not nearly as bright and colorful as they are in our own northern Indiana. Florida, t tomorrow. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Mayfield have closed their cottage and are planning on spending the winter in Florida. North Shore—Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stephenson spent Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Severn, at Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Levinson spent Sunday at their cottage helping to close it for the winter season. A small birthday dinner was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Logan, in honor of their daughter. Mrs. Dunnuck. Mr. and Mrs. Dunnuck and daughter Lynda, and Mrs. Ernest Rogers were guests. Mrs. Ralph Logan spent Tuesday visiting with her mother, Mrs. Elmer Kessler, at Bourbon, Ind. Willow Grove—Mr. and Mrs. Roy Burkett spent Sunday at their cottage. BUILDERS RUMPUS WIT GUESTS The Builders Class of the Methodist Church were guests of the Ralph Powells and Nancy Powell at the Rumpus Hut on Thursday evening. Twenty members shrieked during the ghost walk and visit to the morgue. Games and dancing were enjoyed by the group and fortunes told by Mrs. J. D. Clark, the teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Clark and Mrs. Powell assisted in the games and serving appropriate Halloween “eats”. Prizes were awarded for the best costumes in different groups. A distinguished guest, Mr. Pethybridge, of New’ Britain, Connecticut. played several numbers on the piano during intermission for everyone’s enjoyment. Plans are under way for the celebrated annual Weatherhead Christmas Party, which is for the enjoyment of the employees and families, with toys given to the children.
