Spiritual Life Mission Starts Next Week A spiritual Life Mission during which Methodists will turn their j attention toward deepening their own spiritual lives will be conducted at the Syracuse Methodist i Church here next week. « Church members will be urged < to practice the Holy habits at ’ services which will begin with the regular worship hour Sundaj’ . morning, 17 Oct. Services will be i conducted each evening Sunday . through Friday at 7:30 pan. The Rev. Clair D. Siple of ; Crawfordsville. Ind., will be the 1 guest minister and will preach at ’ each of the services. The Rev. W. Noble Greene will return to his pulpit here Sunday morning. ■ 24 Oct, for a climaxing “Service ; of Victory.” At this time covenants ; which have been made djjring the week to practice the habits 1 will be dedicated. r The Holy habits which church members will be urged to practice are regular church attendance. I family devotions, prayer, daily 1 Bible reading, tithing and witnessing their faith. The Rev. Mr. Siple will preach on a different habit each evening. His topic Sunday morning is, ] “Deepening the Spiritual Life.” ] The Mission is being conducted 1 in 1200 Methodist churches in the state in two different phases. The 1 North Phase, which is being con- 1 ducted next week, has as guest 1 ministers men coming from the < southern part of the state. i The South Phase will be conducted November 7-12 and will have ministers from the northern 1 part of the state. The Rev. W. ] Noble Greene will be going to 1 preach in the Bethel Methodist ! Church, Indianapolis, Indiana, at 1 that time. During the Sunday while he is J away—7 November — lav-men of the church will conduct the service. < In commending the Mission to j Methodists of Indiana Bishop , Richard C. Raines, episcopal lead- j er of the Methodist Church in the - state, stated. “There is a growing awareness of our need for power which God is ready td give, but . which is not at present ours. “The hope of peace in our world , depends today on the spiritual insight and moral character of the . American people. American life needs purification, a sounder sense of values, confidence bom of faith in God, and dedication to a great cause. "We need a revival — first in the hearts and homes of our own church people,” he said. Next ■ week Methodists will be aiming at a revival of their own ‘hearts and homes' through practice of the great principles of the Christian faith.” SUZANNE KLEINKNI6HT VISITS HOME Miss Suzanne Kleinknight was home Friday night from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati. 0., by bus. and was met at Fort Wayne by her family, which also took her to meet the bus. on her way back, Sunday afternoon. Miss Kleinknight chose the Cincinnati Conservatory, partly’ because her teacher, Mrs. Esther Bates, of|Milford, had graduated there. Suzanne has been taking piano lessons some 10 years, and is used to the “noise." as her father. Ed Kleinknight puts it. He laughingly’ indicated the above, after he and Mrs. Kleinknight had taken their daughter there at the beginning of the term, when students were heard practicing, and said in effect. “wonderful place, lots of: noise, though.” I STATEMENT REQUIRED BY j THE ACT OF AUGUST 24. 1912, | AS AMENDED BY’ THE ACTS OF MARCH 3, 1933.
