. Christmas, Grateful Halleluias — The seasons in their round have brought us once more to Christmas. It is a glad festival, welcomed by all. It comes to cheer our homes, brighten our friendships, transfigure our childhood with angelic mirth, and make the old feel young again. It kindles new life, and fills our sanctuaries with grateful Halleluias . . . May this Christmas be a very happy one in your life, and extend over into the New Year. In spiritual matters it can be the most joyful and blessed on record. As Christmas is a time of gifts, let us not forget God s great gift on this • “first Christmas Day" a babe in the manger of Bethlehem, and yet a Saviour. Time brings changes but Christmas remains the same, a season dear to our hearts, and home, and church. But as we look out over the world condition today, it is with a feeling that men need to change so that the Lord can have part in their affairs. Great though the Nation is. how much more wonderful it would be when God is given a place in our lives. Our prayers should be continually, that our nation, and church, be all out for God’s righteous cause, that His will be done, and that we grow in consecrated service to His Divine work Cherishing in our hearts the picture of that sweetest, purest, holiest, divinest Child that ever appeared on Earth; and what grace of God came with Him I —Written expressly for the Journal by the Rev. Mr. Carl Sorenson
