Junior High News The Syracuse Junior High bas-, ketball team was defeated by. Pierceton On Dec. 3. The score was 48-30. In the second team gajn.- Syracuse defeated Pierceton by a score of 25-11. On Dec. 10 the Syracuse Junior High team defeated Milford by a score of 38-24. The second team of Syracuse won 29-26. The next game is Jan. 7th at Leesburg. Band New* Friday night, December 11, the Bpracuse band gathered and went through last minute Instructions. Horns were tuned, advice was g»\x i. and the band was ready to start. Gathering on the right aide of the gym the band formed four abreast. Twirlers were in front, dressed in red and blue uniforms, trimmed in white. The whistle blew, roil off was given/ a fanfare was pktyed and the band started doing a crisscross march that ended on the left side of the gym. The band was again four abreast. Down tn. center of the floor they marched, turned left face, march | ed towards the stage, turned . right face, did a counter march,, marched to the visitors side — formed an ”M” and played the Mentone school song. Again a counter march was done, and the band marched la front of the stage. G. A. A. News The president called the meeting io order, and the secretary read the minutes of the last meeting. They discussed more about the party. I’ing Pong Exliilution On Monday afternoon of last week the student body assembled in the gymnasium for a ping pong exhibition. Clift Webb, the winner of* 67 different table tennis titles in North America, and his partner .the Canadian champion, gave instructions and demonstratios. They showed various ways of handling the paddle, serving, and strokes.
