FRIENDLY’ NEIGHBOR NEWS The Friendly Neighbors’ club held their Christmas party at the Conservation club with 51 ladies and nine children present. The president. Mildred Denzel, opened the meeting. After a short discussion of club business, Santa arrived with lots of Christmas gifts and with gifts for all the children. Secret pals were revealed and names were drawn for the following year. The club hall was beautifully decorated with lovely door pieces, sprigs of evergreen. . and a huge Christmas tree. Records of Christmas carols greeted members as they entered the room and continued periodically throughout the afternoon.. The tables were ’decorated with a background of red crepe paper tablecloths and all white centerpieces. On the center table was a white evergreen arrangement with three tall candles and poinsettas of milk weed pods painted white. It gave the appearance of newly fallen snow, highlighted with a touch of gold. On each side table was a miniature white tree, very snowy In appearance. decorated with small red and gold Christmas balls and gold berries The hostesses. Florence Martin. Ruth Scott, Ella Lung. Kathrjn Michael Beulah Smalley. Miry Roee Henning and Mid Kirkpatrick served guests white coconut snowballs with red candles in each. When guests approached the table) they lighted the candles and sang "Silent Night", in unison.
