EDITORIALS WE GREET OUR NEIGHBORS Being human, there are occasions when we feel proud as a pumpkin, and this is one of those times. Yes, we're just plain proud of our “Mystery Farm” series which has its premiere showing in this weeks' issue of the Journal. From a historical standpoint, we have been aware of this unique service for several years, and it has been our desire to provide this interesting pictorial sequence to our readers at the earliest possible moment. Recognizing the fact that Syracuse is a composite of conventional business establishments, industry, resort, and farming, we will on another day and in another manner treat each of these segments of our livelihood with what we like to call its just reward. This series of farm pictures Institutes our first phase of this ▼rograin. So far as the picture is concerned, we think it and the accompanying news article speaks for itself. We Invite each and aH Os you to take part tn guessing the identity of the “Mystery Farm.” Beyond that, we like to think that we have a part in bringing about a more friendly and harmonious relationship between the rural and town folks. W? greet pur rural neighbors with pride. SFrom where I sit... Ay Joe Marsh F The Missus Keeps Posted
Ever since our electricity was cut off last year on account of me forgetting to mail in the payment, the Missus has been sort of leery about giving me letters to mail. At first she’d ask if I mailed them, then double-check my coat pocket at night She stopped that, and I figured she was convinced I’d learned my lesson. Then yesterday, I got a postcard at the office in a familiar handwriting. I turned it over and by golly it was from the Missus herself! It read: “Thanks, Joe, for mailing my letters. ’’ Well!
