N. Webster Couple Will Celebrate 62nd Anniversary Mr. and Mrs Levi Miller of North Webster will observe their 62nd wedding anniversary in their home Sunday with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. The couple were married by the Rev. Mr. Amsa Puterbaugh in his home Nov. 28. 1891 Mrs. Miller was the former Clara May Catey. They purchased a farm southeast of North Webster where they resided for 30 years. Four of their children include Mrs Harvey Mock of W’ilmot; Mrs. Garrett Grissom of Syracuse; Mrs. Vivian Spencer of Goshen, and Mrs. Ralph Burt of Pierceton A fifth child. Stacy, died in 1947. The couple have 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren After leaving the farm, Mr. and Mrs Miller resided in Wilmot for 29 years They moved to North Webster two years ago.

DECLARE DIVIDEND The board of directors of Northern Indiana Public Service company declared a dividend of 40 cents a share on the outstanding common stock of the company, it was announced this week by its president. Dean H. Mitchell. The dividend is payable Dec 21. City Assumes Yule Atmosphere The advent of Thanksgiving marks the observance of one holiday and ushers in the preparation for still another — Christmas — which set the Chamber of Commerce busy decorating the streets. As in the past. Christmas trees have been installed along the main thorofare. and are being rigged for lighting within the next few days. When complete, eight trees will adorn the crosswalk areas of the main intersection. all of which will be lighted in addition to the string of lights which Intersects the traffic signal located^in the center of the intersection. ~~

Slate Second Team Tourney In Syracuse Gym Second team members of four competing schools will vie in a basketball tournament to be held in Syracuse Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Dec. 1 and 2. The four competing schools embrace Leesburg. North Webster. Milford and Syracuse. Pairings for the two-day tourney 3 will be announced Saturday. Winners of the respective games Tuesday night will meet for the championship trophy Wednesday evening, while the two losing teams will play the Wednesday evening curtain raiser for the consolation prize. Seniors will not be allowed to play .and each school will certify 10 players Each of the schools will furnish a scorer and timer. A nominal admission charge will be made for the games The initial game on each of the two nights will commence at 7 p. m. with the second game getting underway at 8:15 p.m. Spectators will be admitted to the gymnasium as early as 6:30 p.m. «

Dr. Carr has been serving as instructor on research at Northwestern University, where he graduated in June of this year. OPTIMISTIC Mrs. Willard Elkins, recovering from a leg fracture In the Memorial hospital In Logansport, continues- to show satisfactory improvement. Her attendants have classified her as somewhat of a record breaker in the bilge number of letters, cards, and remembrances she has received since her confinement.
