Skidgel left Sunday for Hammond where they will spend the winter in the home of Mrs. Skidgel’s son-in-law and daughter. Dr. and Mrs. H. C. Barth. Mrs. Max Ganshorn entered Elkhart hospital Wednesday and underwent major surgery Thursday morning. She expects-to remain in the hospital about a week. Charles McClintic Jr., of Warsaw spent a few days last week here with his aunt, Mrs. Harold Bassett and family. His father Charles McClintic Sr. underwent major surgery in St. Joseph hospital in South Bend on Nov. 5. and was removed to his home last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Richhart, Jr. and daughter of Fort Wayne were guests last Sunday in the home of the former’s sister. Mrs. Max Carlson and family. Mrs. Carlson’s sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Conde and family of Vandalia, Mich., and Mrs. Harold Mick of Elkhart were also recent guests. John Fisher, Guy Fisher. Mrs. Stoelting Entertains Wednesday Afternoon Club On November fourth Mrs. Otto Stoelting entertained 18 members of the Wednesday afternoon Club at her home on Syracuse Lake. During the business meeting Mrs. James Kirkwood, president, final plans for the Rummage Sale and presented several suggestions for the Christmas Treat which the club provides each December for the children of the community. Mrs. Sol Miller and Mrs. Stoel-J ting, who had attended the Federated Clubs 13th District Convention at Union Mills, reported on that meeting and outlined the projects proposed for the member clubs this year. Mrs. Murdock’s monograph portrays the story of the ill-fated artist Brumidi. who spent twentyfive years of his life in making “beautiful the Capitol of the one country on earth in which there is liberty” and yet was forsaken and forgotten in an unmarked grave in Washington. D. C. for almost three-quarters of a century. The book is outstanding for its fine color reproductions of the Brumidi frescoes, which are—incidentally—the first such reproductions that have been made of these splendid murals in our nation’s Capitol.
