Yellow Jackets Win From New Paris, 53-48 The Sy-acuse Yellow Jackets racked up their third victory of the season last Friday evening by edging a -visiting New Paris Quintet. -513 to 4<B. Syracuse ledJL'2 to 4 at the end of the first quarter. but New Paris closed this lead to 19-15 at the end oi the half. The Jackets had a 112 point lead at one time in the las; half, but the New Paris Cubs closed this to a twopoint lead in a fourth quarter rally. S. H. S. then moved out again and outscored the Cu€s in the final minutes, adding two points astir the bell when a foul was callee on New Paris, to win 513-418. Kroli, Scarbeary, Koble and Longenecker failed to score in their usui.l fashion, but 23 points by Shock, and points added by Meek, Stanley and Worth enabled the locals to win. Xmas Cantata to Be Given Dec. 21 “The Rose Os Christmas,” by Thompson Van Dennan, is the theme of the Christmas Cantata, to be given December |2l, Sunday night by the Methodist Church Choir with'Blair Laughlin, director, at the Syracuse Methodist Church. Kenneth Felts, 31, was treated Sunday at the Goshen hospital for abrasions and possible Internal injuries when his car left the road and rolled over on U. S. 33, near Smokers’ corners early Sunday morning.

0. E.S._NEWS The Order of Eastern Star opened at 8 p.m. Wednesday night for the stated meeting. After the usual business was taken care of, a quartette consisting of Mrs. Betty Appenzeller, Miss Betty Carwile, Miss Kate Connell and Miss Jean Connell entertained with several Christmas carols. Mrs. Ruth Rapp gave a humorous reading, which was enjoyed by all. The chapter room was very beautifullp decorated by the committee, consisting of Mary Dickinson, Bertha Meek, Helen Hilbert, Margaret Freeman and Blanche Grissom. All were invited to the dining room, which was beautifully decorated by Ruth Meredith, Frances Holloway and Louise Byland. Delicious refreshments were served by Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Peters, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Connolly and Mrs. Thelma Dietrich.
