Political Announcement
( • I am a candidate for Representative to the Indiana Legislature from Kosciusko county. My opponent for that office is Frank O. Rarick, the present incumbent, who is seeking re-election. • In addition to filling the office of Representative, Mr. Rarick is Kosciusko county Republican Chairman and his wife heads the Women’s Division of that party. Ido not believe one man sliould have that much dictatorial power over any political party. k • If I am elected to the high office which I seek, I shall not endeavor to create a political machine for the purpose of controlling all political and civic activities of the county. • I SHALL SERVE ALL OF THE TAXPAYERS TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY AND WITHOUT PARTIALITY OR POLITICAL AFFILIATION. • I SHALL VOTE TO OPPOSE ANY INCREASE OF TAXES WHICH ARE NOT ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY IN THE CONDUCT OF GOOD AND EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT. • I AM OPPOSE TO THE CONTEMPLATED INCREASE IN GASOLINE TAX. • 1 AM OPPOSED TO THE PRESENT GROSS INCOME TAX AS IT NOW APPEARS ON THE LAW BOOKS OF INDIANA AND I WOULD SUPPORT A NET INCOME TAX IN LIEU THEREOF. • 1 BELIEVE EVERY ELECTED OFFICE HOLDER SHOULD RENDER HONEST AND CONSCIENTIOUS SERVICE TO HIS COMMUNITY AND IN THE SAME MANNER IN WHICH HE WOULD OPERATE HIS OWN BUSINESS. DISHONESTY IN PUBLIC OFFICE IS A SERIOUS CRIME AND SHOULD BE PUNISHED WITHOUT FEAR OR FAyOR. • I HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS IN WARSAW FOR MANY YEARS. MY TWO SONS WERE EDUCATED IN THE WARSAW SCHOOLS. BOTH OF MY SONS SERVED THEIR COUNTRY IN WORLD WAR TWO. AND THEY ARE BOTH AFFILIATED WITH ME IN BUSINESS.
