Gaylord Jones, Qpy, Jack Clark and Tim Darr, of Wawasee Post No. 223 attended the Kosciusko County Council of the American Legion last Friday evening. Election of officers was the main event electing Bob Whetsone of Mentone as commander. The local post held their last meeting Wednesday evening, July 18, before the State Convention, which convenes July 2® to July 31st. This meeting started with a Pot-Luck Supper for the Post and Auxiliary members and their families followed by a social hour after which the business meeting was called to order by commander Tim Darr, at 8:90- p. m., with the Post No. 223 Auxiliary as guests. The Nappanee American Legion Post No. 154 Installation team were the visiting out of town Legionnaires present who installed the 1952 officers of the local post. The Nappanee boys give a very impressive ceremony. Other outstanding stars appearing in “The New Moon” are David Fisher, director of the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre, Mary McDonald and Paul Gilbert of the staff of Radio Station WGL, Bob Carlin, newscaster for Radio Station WOWO, Jayne Oltman Spillson, Bob Triplett and Dick Smith. The telephone number of the downtown ticket office is A-1823. 4-H CLOB NEWS 4-H Star Camper awards were made Wednesday evening at the Campfire at the close of the 3 day 4-H camp at McClure Lake near Silver Lake. The awards, a trip back to camp next year and also a trophy, were awarded to Jenine Ross, of Sidney and alternate, Pat Scherer of Silver Lake for the girls and Arthur Mabie, of Syracuse, and Ed Gregory, of Pierceton, for the boys. These campers were selected Star Campers on the basis of of their fine attitude, personality, leadership in the camping activities and co-operation with the camp function. One hundred and twelve 4-H members attended the camp and there were 12 staff members. Other campers from Syracuse were Susan Darr, Vivian Fisher, Eleanor Holloway and Pat Hapner. Arthur Mabie and Susan Darr were sponsored by the Syracuse Lions club. • Wins Quiz Test. David Pletcher, of Syracuse, won the quiz test on Bill Johnson’s W. R. S. W. 4-H monthly quiz contest, last Saturday. He will appear in three months on the quarterly contest. His award for winning this monthly contest was some 4-H jewelry. Dr. and Mrs. Roy Ewing Vale are guests of the Davidsons at Sand Point. Dr. Vale is Minister, of Tabernacle Presbyterian church in Indianapolis.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carwile returned last Saturday, from a two weeks vacation trip, to McKinney, Texas, where they visited in the home of the, former’s brother, Gerald Carwile, Jr., and family. En route home they visited various points of interest including, Devil’s Den and Turner Falls, in Oklahoma, and Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., and through the state of Illinois, home. Section n. ’ It shall be hereafter unlawful! • for any Owner or Lessee of any ' • lot or tract of ground located' 1 within the corporate limits of the: ’ Town of Syracuse to place more than one trailer car or trailer home at any one time upon said lot or tract of ground, and in all ' cases where an Owner or Lessee of real estate in the Town of Syra- ! cuse places a trailer car or trailer home upon such a lot or tract of ground such owner is hereby re1 quired to hook up to the Syracuse City Water Mains and hook up to either the town sewer system or a standard septic tank. From and ' after the passage of this act, outside toilets for use in connection' with trailer cars or trailer homes are positively forbidden. Section HI. Upon any violation of the provisions of either Section I or Section II above, the Town of Syracuse through its duly constituted authorities shall have the power to remove the trailer cars or trailer homes causing the violation by proper proceedings in any court of competent jurisdiction within the State of Indiana. Section IV. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the 31st day of July 1951, which said date is more than ten days after the publication of the ordinance in a newspaper of general circulation in the said Town of Syracuse. -RAY R.
