How Hudsons exclusive recessed floor brings you America's Roomiest Car!
y — L\ ROAD CLEARANCE |J] HUDSON Recessed floor ("step-down" design) brings the space between frame members, which is wasted in other cars, into Hudson's passenger compartment. This results in America’s lowest center of gravity (and full road clearance), while providing more head room and seating room than any other car.

John Sparling’s races, at Hunnicutt’s Amusement Park last Sunday. There were three fellows at the track in “ride ’em cowboy,” satin shirts. The car of the one, driven by the other, did very well. The third satin-shirted fellow had to leave the pits, for he was under twenty-one, but methinks,' one never sees Abie Nicolai without a smile on his face. The “mechanised surrey” done over, with a new look of a racer, for its owner did okay, but was a great disappointment to Sara, for, having bull-dozed Jim McClintic for a ride in the former contraption, had intended trying for another but a racer! Huh uh! The races were real entertainment, and will surely be well attended. According t£ ‘Tubby Toms’, Indianapolis News Sportswriter, “when a man’s out fishing or hunting, he’s availing himself of freedom, in the fullest sense.” “He goes pretty nearly whenever he pleases, and where he pleases.” “The restrictions which govern his behavior as a fisherman, or hunter, are actually few, seldom severe.” Tubby wonder, “if many of us, when out fishing or hunting ever stop to consider, we are exercising rights of freedom, which already have been snatched, from people the world over.” What prompted Mr. Toms to go into this “fishing freedom”, was a news account of the Conference of 'Governors at White Sulphur Spring, where one of the speakers Secretary of State Dean Acheson, told how Americans living behind the Iron Curtain in Russia must have a written permit for every action. Mr. Toms goes on, to think of fishing in Russia, which "would probably require a special legislative act, to swing the deal.” To own a boat or outboard motor, have an automobile, even con-
What a wonderful difference Hudson’s exclusive recessed floor makes! Among other advantages, it provides more room than in any other car! Hudson seat cushions are up to 12 inches wider than those in cars of greater outside dimensions. You’ll find the most head room in any automobile. Even door and window controls are recessed for more elbow room! Won’t you accept our invitation to see Hudson —to discover how this new way to build automobiles makes a greater share of over-all size available for passenger room and comfort than is possible in any other car.

vince the authorities that the trip was necessary, would be unlikely.” Mr. Toms says, “So let’s all of us from now on, when we go fishing or hunting, pause a few moments, to remind ourselves that we’re still free, blessed‘with more individual liberties than any country in the world”! Personal observations on this “war business” Sherman was right, “War Is Hell,” but the recent newspaper tales of faces shot, and back broken, and more to come is certainly out of line, in the Christian way of obtaining peace. The millions of dollars, now being talked of to force peace, could have been appropriated years ago to send many missionaries, instead of handfuls, to different countries. Many, many, missionaries, methinks, could have taught the way of peace without warring. Then, if the set up would hav« been backed by honest voters who really acquainted themselves with the various candidates, really fit for high offices, instead of voting, “follow the leader way,” or not voting at all, these United States could have been peace-maker. After all, the Christian way could be right. Just think, of all those hundreds of young people, over past years, trading places with families, across the seas. They have lived in each other’s families, they won’t wish to shoot each other in the face, or break backs! “Dolars for missionaries to teach peace?” Sounds absurd? Why should it? Forcing peace every few years could end in total demolishment of all countries. Okay so Sara has war-nerves, well, one can dream, can’t one, of a Christian way to end war! Files Objection Eugene Maloy has filed objections in circuit court to an assessment of $115.20 on 114.5 acres of land for cleanout of the Turkey Creek ditch, contending that his land will not in any way be benefited by the work and asking that the assessment be stricken out. LOCAL NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bailey and son, of Brooklyn, New York, were guests last week in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Coy. On Friday the group spent the day in Belding, Mich., with Carl O’Brien. Mr. Coy, Mr. Bailey and Mr. O’Brien were overseas together for two and one half years. Mr. and Mrs. Bailey left for their home on Monday.
