SYRACUSE MAN JAILER ON BURGL.IRY CHARGE Thomas Arthur Strieby. 27. of Syracuse. Is in the Kosciusko county jail, booked on a charge of second-degree burglary. Strie--6y was arrested last Saturday afternoon by State Trooper RobM Clevenger. Strieby is alleged to have stolen |3O from Wayne’s Grill in Syracuse. Entrance to the Grill was made late last Friday night after closing hours. according ’to Wayne I?lakesley. owner of the restaurant.- Blakesley said that entrance was made through the back door and >3O was taken from a change box. MRS. EMU. BAKER. 4K PASSES AWAY SUNDAY Mrs. Iva Pearl Baker. 48, bedfast with a heart condition for the past four months, died at 9:15 p.m.» Sunday at her home in Syracuse. Mrs. Baker a native of Syracuse, was the wife of Earl Baker. < A daughter of George and Roxanna Ra.rig, Mrs. Baker was born April 14. 1900. and she had always lived in the Syracuse community. She first married Floyd Reed and after his death Jan. 22, 1939. she married Mr. Baker. Surviving are her husband, two sons. Floyd Reed, of Syracuse and Stanley Reed, serving in the 'nafrv and stationed at San Diego. Califk two daughters. Shirley Reed and Beverly Baker, both at home; one grandchild; two 1 brothers. BARN FIRE NEAR CROMWELL A large quantity of hay and about 43 head of cattle and hogs were lost in a serious barn fire' which occurred early Sunday morning on the John Beck farm, located about three miles from Cromwell. Warren Hire resides on the farm. The cause of the fire, which was discovered about 4:30 a. 19. Sunday, is not definitely known.
