Monies Friday a f tern ton a movie, “Body Defenses J gainst Disease” was shown in thf gym. In the movie we saw th? three natural barriers which th? body puts up against bacteria snd germs: The skin, the lymphatic system, and the blood stream Following the movie. Rev. Joseph Koble, of the Church of God, gave a talk on 1 federation vs. Temperance. In his message, he explained how easy it may be to confuse the two and how important it is to understand the difference between them. After the meesige from Rev. Koble. Mr. Slabi.ugh presented honor sweaters to Ive senior boys who have earned them this season. To win the sweaters, it was necessary for each boy to participate in at least four basketball games. The senioirs who received the sweaters were Max Workman. Glenn Stiffler. Phillip Strieby, Keith Koble, and William Johnston. Another an ard was given to the boy on the liasketball team who made the greatest percentage of free threws during this season. To be eligible for this award, the player had to have at least 25 free throws. The award, a gold pin with a basket ball player on the front and SHS *4S engraved on the bach, was givea to a senior also. Phil Strieby. His free throw percentage was T 1.9. Who’s Who This week, in tie spotlight, we find Glenn Lamar Stiffler, another of the ‘‘charter members” of the Class of ’4!l. He was born July 26. 1930. near Syracuse; He has attended school in Syracuse for twelve long yjars. For six years, he has been a member of the high school band, and for four years, he has sung in the chorus. Glenn pinyed basketball for three years. He has been active in 4-H work lor 7 years and has served in the tapacity of junior leader for 2 years. He is five feet, eight inches all, has brown hair and brown e;rea. His dislikes nclude “long skirts.” Seems I is weakness is blondes. Everyone In school Is certainly surprised to hear that, Glenn His save ite food is ice cream and cake, favorite sport, basketball; hobb), playing the cornet. At least, Ite says that is his hobby. Again, as in most cases, the seniors have the powerhouse because their starting five consists of five members of the basketball t«am. Fry. G; Bobeck. F; Grindle,’ F. Ten meifibijrs of the basketball squad, Mr. Riser. Mr. Slabaugh and Mr. Beck attended the sectional basketball fish fry at Leesburg, Monday night. Everybody enjoyed the fish dinner, but the program which followed was a little off key. The senior of the basketbail team will attend the semifinals at Muncie next Saturday. Milford lost to Monroeville Sa»urday. The difference was one sprained ankle. With all three of Milford’s main players in shape to play, Monroeville would have had a different problem. Tough luck Milford. Eighteen of the more hardy boys are limbering up for track and will be all ready as soon as the weather man cooperates a little.
