SYRACISK CHURCH SCENE OK BK-UTUTI WEDDISIi Wedding vows were spoken Sunday afternoon at three o'clock in the First Methodist church in Syracuse by Miss Ruth Josephine Bowman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Nine, of Syracuse, and Mav Dean Becknell. son of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Becknell. of Papakeechie lake. The Rev. C M. Fawns officiated In the presence of 65 guests. The chancel of the church was beautifully decorated with ferns and baskets of yellow and bronze chrysanthemums. The scene was lighted by tall white candles in candelabra. Wedding music was played by Mrs. Richard Williams, organist, as the guests were being seated by the usher. Mr. Williams. Preceding the service Miss Shirley Becknell. sister of the bridegroom, sang * Sw v »fthearts In The Dark." and "1 Love You Truly." Mr and Mrs. Wayne Kunderd, brother-in-law and sister, of Mr. Becknell attended the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Kunderd, were observing their second wedding anniversary' on that date. The brld#, who attended Syracuse high school, had been employed as a clerk In the Galloway store on Lake Wawasee. Mr. Becknell. who is associated in business with his father in the Gosher Electric Shoe shop, attended Goahen high school and served In the U. S. navy for four years. Mr. and Mrs. Becknell are residing In their newly furnished home at Papa—keechie lake. J ICE FISHING SUNDAY Many ice fishermen q;ere on channels around Lake Wawasee Sunday., with good catches reported. The big lake itself was not frozen over, but there was near four inches of ice on the channels. The warm w'eather this week has just about ruined the ice fishing at present.
