U. U. T. 1. MET AT WINONA The Executive Planning Conference meeting of the county W. C. T. I", was held on Tuesday. Nov. 25th at the home of Mrs. B F. Lough. Winona Lake, with the county president. Mrs. Harry Willard. presiding. Devotions" were followed by praise service and a business session. Ofifcers and directors gave reports on their plans for the year, and some very interesting points were given and commented on by the many members present. Noon tide prayer was followed by the dinner. Afternoon services begun with song and prayer, and reports continued until 4 o'clock when the meeting came to a close. There were 25 members present Rev. and Mrs. J. C Bailey. Mrs. j S. A. 25 YEARS AGO THURSDAY, NOV. 30. 1922 A son was born Nov. 23 to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bushong. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Crouch, of Stroh. Ind.. are the parents of a son born. Nov. 23. Mrs. Crouch before her marriage was Miss Cora Zerbe. of this city. Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church. Friday afternoon for James I. Robinson, age 39. who died Nov. 21 in Elkhart. Burial was made in Syracuse cemetery. Four children survive. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Sargent are business visitors in Terre Haute, this week. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Kitson expect to spend Thanksgiving with their son. Floyd Kitson and family at Stroh. lnd. Rev. and Mrs. Joe Bailey and sons. Paul and Leonard, of Atwood. came on Sunday and are spending a few days with her parents. Mr. and J. H. Stough at Pickwick Park. They are also visiting with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. George Bailey. Mrs Amanda Xanders left on Tuesday evening for York. Pa., where she will spend the winter with relatives. Mrs. Sam Searfoss and sons. Sam Ed and Bobbie went to Peru, yesterday to spend Thanksgiving in the home of her sister. Mrs. J. J. McConnel Mr. and Mrs. Ed Uurue returned home on Monday from a visit with relatives in South Bend. Rev. and Mrs. T. H. Harman are in charge of revival services at the Concord church. A number of-relatives gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Bender last Sunday to remind Mrs. Bender of her birthday. A chicken dinner was served. A very pleasant surprise was given Mrs. Lucy Butt at her home Thursday evening, when relatives came with a fine Thanksgiving supper. Those present were Fred Hinderer and family. Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Brown. Eston Clayton and family, Mrs .Susan Nicolai and Russell Hinderer and family. Mr and Mrs. Levi Kitson received the announcement of the marriage of their son. Hugh A. Kitson to Florence E. Miller, of Vickeryville. Mich., which took place Nov. .29. The bridegroom is a teacher in the high school at Evart, Mich. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Church of the Brethren in Goshen for John W Kitson. who died in a Toledo hospital. Burial was made in Syracuse cemetery. Surviving are the widow and three sons. Chester. Cressell and Forest . four brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Ernest Richhart and children spent the week in Elkhart, visiting her parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Kaiser. Thtrty-flve relatives gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B F. Hentzell. Thursday. Nov. 30 with well-filled baskets to remind Mr. Hentzell of his 81st birthday. The town board has awarded the contract for drilling two 80foot. 10-inch wells to Robt. H Kersey, of South Bend, for sl.I 558. he being the lowest bidder.
