Richard Pracht is visiting friends at Charleston, 111., for a week or ten days. /
Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Bumpus, of Athens, Ala., spent several days here this week with Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Bauer. They were enroute to Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Fieldon Shajrp entertained Sunday in honor of the birthday of their daughter, Miss Shirley, Guests included Clinton Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson, and family, of Goshen; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Baker and family and Lowell and Ronald Sharp; Mr. and Mrs. E. E. McClintic spent last week-end at Kalamazoo, Mich., with their son, Harry. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Nichols, Bend, spent last week-end here with Mrs. Nichol’s father, Don Wolf and family. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bell, of Pottowatomie Park went to Chicago Wednesday for a few days’ visit; Mrs. Harry Grieger accompanied them and visited her grandmother, Mrs. C. M. Gordy, who is a patient in the Wesley hospital. Mrs. Grieger returned here Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. D. M. LeClair and children, of Canton, Ohio, arrived Wednesday evening to spend several weeks with , Mri. LeClair's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Miller. Mrs. C. R. Hoy and her niece. Betty Ott. spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Chicago ; Mrs. Grace Black, bf Ligonier, spent Wednesday in Syracuse, visiting her sister. Mrs. Howard Bowser. . Mr. Ind Mrs. Macy Nichaleson, Mrs. Herman Teetor and Mrs. brook Lichtenberg, of Hagerstown, and Mrs. Norman Johanning. of Hagerstown, were guests of Mrs. Charles Teetor Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Schleeter celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary by taking a train to Niagara Falls Friday, returning here Sunday night. Mrs. Cora Braley, of Fostoria. Ohio, is here visiting her friend, Mrs. Isaac Unrue, and Mr. Unrue. The ladies grew up oh adjoining farms in southeastern Ohio, ana this is their first meeting in fifty years. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fahey, of Chicago, spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Nathen Insley. - Spencer Heerinen and Charles Wilcox, who were recently inducted into the U. S. Army, are stationed at Fort Wolters. Texas. Mrs. J. C. Roth and Kate Pentzer Stokes, of Chicago, are here visiting J. C. Abbott. Mrs. Geo. Woodling. of Warsaw, is employed at “Berneice’s Beauty Nook" for the summer season. . ‘ . Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wagner, of Indianapolis, have returned to their home after a week's vacation at their cottage on Syracuse lake. ’ ; fSfr. and Mrs. Lou Heerman, of Bend, are spending their vacation here with Mrs. Heerman s mother. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grenacher, of Minneapolis, Minn., were here Tuesday visiting with Mrs. Grenacher’s brother, Dan Wolf -and family. Monday evening a picnic supper honoring Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rhode and daughter, Priscilla, of St. Louis, Mo., oh the lawn at the Charles Rock home on Syracuse lake. Those present were Mr. and Mrs.. Arnold Pfingst, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Miles, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Noble Blocker and Mr. and Mrs. Rock. The Fellowship class of the Methodist church had a hamburger fry in the Nelson Miles yard on Tuesday evening. Later the crowd gathered in the summer house on the bank of the lake and enjoyed group singing and a talk by Rev. Deyo, Sunday evening dinner at Sargent's hotel was enjoyed by Mr. and Mys. O. Rhode. Mr. and Mrs. G. Richards, Mrs. W. M. Wilt. Mr and Mrs. Arnold Pfingst and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Miller. Thursday evening the office force of the Schultz Trailer company, of Elkhart, held a picnic supper at the Nelson Miles home Mrs. Lawrence Held is seriouslv ill at her home here. Mrs. Theora Christie, of Ligonier, is seriously ill in a Chicago hospital. • Mrs. Howard Bowser has been confined,to her home with an injured ankle.

E. Miller. Jimmie remained for a week's visit. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Insiey, of Saugus. Colo., spent Monday and Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Nate Insley.
