Young Peoples Conference got under way Sunday The group numbers 800 staying on the grounds, and those coming in for the regular evening services bring .this number to near 1000. Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Crist Kercher and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kercher, of Louisville, Ky., have returned to their homes, after a week at the park. Rev. D. A. Kaley, of South Bend, district superintended of the Evangelical church, spent last week-end at the hotel. Rev. and Mrs. G. T. Rosselot and son, George, of Decatur, Ind., are guests at the hotel this week. Mrs. Harry C. Monroe and son, Harrison, of Riven Forest, 111., has spent sevepnF days at the hotel. Marion §tdcker, of the hotel personel, is in Peru this week. Mrs. Neva Niles spent Saturday at Lansing. Mich. ' Bob Schlictenmyer. employed at the hotel, was callbd to Evansville Tuesday to the bedside of his sister, who was seriously injured in an automobile accident Sunday. Mrs. Zenna Stark and Mrs. Burrell Fredrick, of Elkhart, spent several days this week at their cottage. Rev. and Mrs. Vernon Palmer and family, of Elkhart, attended the Conference Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Laudeman, of Bremen, spent last week at their cottage in the park.. Bob Mathews, of Manchester college, and Miss Helen Striggle. of South Whitley., spent last week end at the hotel. . Dwight Sheets, of Avilla, visited with his aunt, Mrs. Charles Brumbaugh, Sunday. Rev. and Mrs. Leßoy Gieger, of Ft. Wayne, spent Sunday at their cottage. Lloyd Bitzer entertained Dickie Rosenberry two days last week. Ideal Beach Open Air Concerts Mr. Don Fryback.'of Ft. Wayne, will bring his Elmhurst high school band to Ideal Beach Sunday afternoon for a one hour concert, from the pavillion on the lak-e front, beginning at 2 p.m. The band is composed of about fifty boys and girls. Elmhurst is a Wayne township school, a suburb of Fort Wayne. This and won first place in Class H marching band state contest this spring.

Mr. and Mrs. Fryback were at Ideal Beach last summer, operating the restaurant. Besides being music director at Elmhurst, he has three grade schools where he directs the music department Hillcrest, Anthony W’ayne and Waynedale. Plans are being made for guest bands at Ideal Beach each Sunday afternoon. < SOUTH SHORE INN John E. Boyts announces. that staijtihg July 1, the Herman Sac's orchestra, of Ligonier, will furnish the luncheon and dinner music, as well as music for dancing in the Rathskellar, this season. Mrs. Dana Cramer and Mrs. Charles Neidig. of Goshen, were hostesses for fifty guests at luncheon and bridge Wednesday. Wednesday evening, fifty Tri Kappa’s, of Warsaw, enjoyed a banquet and initiation at the Inn. STATE BOARD MEETING Mrs. Charles N. Teeter, of Hagerstown. was hostess at a State Board meeting, ’League of Women Voters, at a luncheon Thursday at the Inn. Thirty members attended. 4 . Thursday evening the Elkhart Rotarians, numbering 150, held a dinner-dance at the‘inn. Friday evening, eighty .Rotarians from Goshen ;will hold a banquet at the Inn. The International Business Machine Corp., of South Bend, will hold their banquet Saturday evening vthe Inn. Representatives of the Union Central Life Insurance Co., will come ip today for the week-end. Forty reservations have been made. .. Mrs. Sipskin. of Ft. Wayne, entertained eight ladies Wednesday, at 6 o’clock dinner. NATTI CROW BEACH Miss Charlene Bishop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Ft. Wayne, who reside at the lake each summer, celebrated her birthday Tuesday. The reporter knows she had ice cream and\ake —and it looked like a real party. The Milners, of Kendallville have taken the Lee Lung cottage for the season. . ' ■ Mrs. Anna Kolb is visiting two weeks at Sharron. Pa , and other eastern cities. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hartsley and Tamily, of Ft. Wayne, were at their, cottage on Morrison Island last week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Syler, of Nappanee, are at their cottage on the beach now. SPINK-WAWASEE HOTEL Sunday. Monday and Tuesday, the Western Actuarial Bureau, of Chicago, held a convention at the Spink. Forty were registered. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, representatives of the Reliance Life Insurance Co., enjoyed a 3-day vacation. Wednesday night, thfe Elkhart Lion's Club held a banquet, and installation of officers at the Spink. The national convention of the Phi Rho Sigma‘fraternity convened Wednesday, of this week. s for a three-day meeting. Friday night (tonight) the Rotary club of Warsaw will hold a banquet. The S. F. G., a social organization, will hold their general good time of the Spink, coming
in Friday, and holding over until Sunday. This group is well-known for its Razzle Dazzle Golf and other fun games. About 50 will attend; This week-end, the Zeta Kappa Psi sorority will have their business meeting of the year, with 50 attending. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, of next week, the Indiana Fire Underwriters will hold their convention at-the Spink. OFFICERS MEET Members of the Reserve Officers of the Goshen district and their wives were entertained at dinner Sunday evening by Dr. and Mrs. J. S. Wellington at their home on Lake Wawasee.
